The USMNT will feel like they missed a great chance to take 3 points against Wales, and things get tougher on Friday as they prepare to face Group B favorite England at the Al Bayt Stadium (2:00pm ET, FOX, Peacock, Telemundo).

Gregg Berhalter’s team was running the show against the Welsh, and deservedly went ahead through Tim Weah, but left the field devastated at being held 1-1. There were no such difficulties for England, which crushed Iran 6-2 to take control of the group. So what happens next?

Well, we’ve thought it through and come up with a USA vs England Same Game Parlay, which is available at +592 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

England ML (-185)

Raheem Sterling anytime goalscorer (+190)

Over 8.5 corners (-130)

Same Game Parlay odds: +592

Let’s check out the reasoning behind each of our selections:

England ML (-185)

England looked a class apart from most other nations in the 6-2 demolition of an Iran team that was supposed to be noted for its defensive solidity. It’s always a big if with England, but if the Three Lions sustain that level of attacking courage and style they’ll be too good for most teams, as was the case at the last World Cup and the European Championship finals in 2021.

The USMNT was outstanding n the first half of the match against Wales with Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and Christian Pulisic given the freedom to dominate the midfield. After the Welsh made changes at the interval, however, the game changed, and the U.S. was nullified.  England operates at a higher level than Wales and should prove too strong.

Raheem Sterling anytime goalscorer (+320)

One of the many great strengths about this England team is the ability of its 4 forwards to arrive in the penalty area. Raheem Sterling proved that as well as anyone against Iran with his neatly timed run to get on the end of a Harry Kane cross for England’s third goal.

That kind of contribution is nothing new from Sterling, who was a consistent goalscorer for both Manchester City and England, netting 3 times at last summer’s European Championship finals. Quiet since his big-money move to Chelsea in the EPL, this is his chance to shine and he clearly thrives with the Three Lions on his shirt.

Over 8.5 corners (-130)

England piled up 8 corners against Iran, the United States won 5 against Wales and between them, we can surely get to 9, can’t we? There have been questions over England’s ambition under Gareth Southgate but when the Three Lions play positively, they will be attacking the box and the byline, especially given how strong they are from corners and free-kicks.

And it was nice to see such positivity from the U.S. with Pulisic and Weah as happy to head for the byline as cut inside. All of which adds up to the potential for a high corner count.
