First-round action at the French Open wraps up on Tuesday, with Jannik Sinner kicking off his title quest. Aryna Sabalenka is also bidding for her first trophy at Roland Garros and will get the order of play started on Court Philippe Chatrier.

Let’s take a look at the best bets to be made on the Day 3 schedule.

Learner Tien ML over Cristian Garin (-160)

Clay was though to be Tien’s worst surface, but perhaps that is an incorrect take. The left-hander just lifted the trophy in Geneva this past weekend, defeating Alexander Bublik, Alex Michelsen, and clay-court specialist Mariano Navone in the process. Importantly, Tien got the latest start possible in Paris — Tuesday. That gives him 2 full days off in between matches. It’s worth noting that the other three ATP finalists from last week – Navone, Ignacio Buse, and Tommy Paul – all had to play on Monday at Roland Garros and all still played well. Tien should be more than ready to roll today, as fitness has never been an issue for the 20-year-old American. Garin can be dangerous on clay, but Tien is the far superior all-around player in this matchup.

Diane Parry +1.5 sets over Anhelina Kalinina (-110)

Parry and Kalinina squared off at Roland Garros in 2023, when Parry dominated 6-2, 6-3. Why should we expect anything different for the Frenchwoman in front of her home crowd? Parry has always played her best tennis on clay and she recently won a lower-level title on the red stuff in Paris. Kalinina is playing well right now, too, but she has also done her damage against unspectacular competition. Moreover, fatigue could be a factor for the Ukrainian. She has already played an absurd 36 clay-court matches in 2026. Kalinina reached the Rabat final this past weekend and retired from that match, so she heads into the year’s second Grand Slam as a physical question mark. Parry has a great chance to take a set and could easily win this one outright.

Luciano Darderi ML over Sebastian Ofner and Martin Landaluce ML over Juan Carlos Prado Angelo (-116)

It’s time for Darderi to start stepping at Grand Slams after achieving success at all other levels. The Italian has won multiple ATP 250 titles and recently advanced to the Rome Masters 1000 semifinals. He should not have any trouble with Ofner, who lost their only previous clay-court meeting 6-0, 6-3. Meanwhile, Landaluce has thrived on the big stage this season – advancing to Masters quarterfinals in Miami and Rome. Expecting the same result at a Grand Slam may be too much, but asking him to simply win one match should be well within reason. Prado Angelo has never won an ATP-level match in his career (not including lower-level Davis Cup competition for Bolivia).
