KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

SSG Landers ML (+100) vs Kiwoom Heroes

One of the more important games on Sunday will see the SSG Landers take on the Kiwoom Heroes. This game is important because both sides are on the playoff bubble so to speak. The Landers are in 4th and the Heroes are in 5th, but both have the exact same record. The Landers did lose on Saturday 9-2 and will be looking to bounce back here. They will start Kim Keon-Woo, which is interesting because this will be his debut.

The Kiwoom Heroes will counter by starting Kim Seon-Gi. He has been awful this season, posting a record of 2-2, but has an ERA of 6.75. He is also very poor against the SSG Landers.

The Landers might have a guy making his pitching debut, but backing them still looks to be the play here. This play is more about fading Seon-Gi, so backing the SSG Landers to win will be the top play.

KT Wiz vs LG Twins – Over 8.5 runs (-105)

These pitchers’ average seasons could point to an over in this game. Bae Je-Seong has an ERA of 5.86 against the LG Twins and has allowed at least 3 runs in 3 of his 4 starts against them. He has allowed 14 runs over 21.2 innings against the Twins, so it seems unlikely that he will go out there and dominate.

Kim Yun-Sik has been just okay when facing the KT Wiz, but he also has a very small sample size. This is just 3.0 innings of work, in which he has allowed 7 runs. The KT Wiz offense has turned it on as of late, so backing the over will be the play here.

Doosan Bears vs Samsung Lions -1.5 (-125)

The Doosan Bears lost again on Saturday, losing 11-4 to the Samsung Lions. This was their 4th loss in a row and it looks like they are starting to really struggle. Now sitting 4.5 games behind the final playoff spot, the Bears need to get a win here. Doosan will start Kim Min-Gyu, who is not having a good season at all. He is 2-3 on the season, but his ERA of 5.64 is more than concerning.

The Lions are the hottest team in the KBO right now, coming into this game having won 5 games in a row. Even with the winning streak, the Lions seem to be stuck in 3rd place at the moment and still trail the KT Wiz by 3 games. The Lions will start Baek Jung-Hyun, who is 11-4 on the season and has an ERA of 2.26. He has been one of the best pitchers in this Lions’ rotation and has also been excellent against the Bears.

Doosan’s pitcher has been too inconsistent this season, while their team as a whole has not been playing well the last week or so. Based on recent form and the pitching, backing the Lions to win by a couple runs will be the top play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay which pays out at +602.
