KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Lotte Giants vs KT Wiz – Under 9.5 runs (-115)

The under looks to be a solid play for this game given how the pitchers have been performing. Park Se-Woong is 3-0 against the KT Wiz and has an ERA of 0.90. This is over the span of 3 starts, where he has allowed 2 runs over 20.0 innings. From a glance, Um Sang-Back has not been as good against the Giants, posting a record of 1-0 with an ERA of 3.60. Though looking at these numbers more closely, we see that he has just 1 start against the Giants. In this lone start, he allowed 2 runs over 5.0 innings, so there is not much to suggest that he will implode here.

Neither team’s offense has been putting up a ton of runs as of recently, so with two solid pitchers, the under looks to be the best option.

SSG Landers vs Doosan Bears – Under 7.5 runs (-120)

The total might be the better play here, despite the fact that it has been set pretty low. As mentioned, Wilmer Font has been excellent against the Bears. He has a record of 2-0 against them and a miniscule ERA of 0.56. This is over the span of 2 starts, where he has allowed 1 run over 16.0 innings.

Walker Lockett has also been very solid when facing the SSG Landers. He is 1-1 against them, but has an ERA of 2.19. This is over the span of 2 starts as well, where he has allowed 3 runs over 12.1 innings. With both pitchers allowing basically nothing to each other’s team, the under looks to be the best play for this game.

Hanwha Eagles vs Kiwoom Heroes – Under 7 runs (+100)

Seeing that both pitchers are capable of putting together strong performances, the total very well could be the better play in this spot. Especially, seeing that Eric Jokisch has been elite when facing the Eagles. He is 2-0 against them and has yet to allow a single run. This is over the span of 3 starts, where he has pitched 17.0 shutout innings.

Ryan Carpenter, while being decent this season, has not had the same success against the Heroes. He is 0-2 against them and has an ERA of 4.34. He has 3 starts against Kiwoom, having allowed 9 runs over 18.2 innings. The good news is that his last start against the Heroes resulted in 1 run over 7.0 innings.

With Jokisch having allowed nothing to Hanwha and Carpenter having improved against Kiwoom recently, backing the under will be the top play here.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay–which pays out at +585.
