KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes Money Line (-114)

Kiwoom comes into the game having won two in a row, finishing off the Hanwha Eagles on Thursday morning. They have also won four of their last five and are currently sitting safely in the playoffs as the second seed. The Giants on the other hand, are in sixth place, desperately trying to break into the top five. Starting this game for the Heroes is set to be Hyun Yang. This will actually be his first start of the season after having come out of the bullpen all year. Nonetheless, he is 6-2 with a 2.55 ERA. Though it is not much of a sample size, Yang is 2-0 against the Giants and has not allowed a run to them.

Lotte will start Se-woonng Park, who is 5-5 with a 5.08 ERA. He has allowed 11 runs over his last 21 innings (four starts), translating to an ERA of 4.71. The Heroes are clearly in the better form and I will back them here to continue their win streak.

NC Dinos Run Line -1.5 (-122)

Having won their last two games in a row, the Twins will turn to Yun-sik Kim to make the start. Kim has been very bad to say the least, posting an 0-2 record with a 7.36 ERA. He actually has only made three starts, allowing at least four earned runs in each outing.

The NC Dinos will look to Mike Wright, who has not exactly been impressive either. Wright is 6-4 on the season with a 4.06 ERA. This is a tricky game, but I still would give the pitching edge to Wright and the Dinos and will take them to win comfortably.

KT Wiz/Doosan Bears Under 8.5 Runs (+104)

This under is all about the quality pitchers and how they have performed recently. The KT Wiz plan to start Odrisamer Despaigne, who is 10-5 on the season with a 4.03 ERA. He has however, looked impressive over his last four starts, going 4-0 with an ERA of 1.82.

His mound opponent, Raul Alcantara, has been just as impressive, going 10-1 this season with a 2.72 ERA. He has also been on fire through his last four starts, posting an ERA of 1.38. Given the recent form of the starting pitching, I do think they will have success against each other and the under is the play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +596.
