KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KIA Tigers/SK Wyverns Over 10.5 Runs (-104)

This play is all about fading the horrible pitcher for the SK Wyverns. That being Ricardo Pinto, who is been dreadful to say the least recently. Overall, he is 4-10 with an ERA 6.17, but it has just gotten worse for him recently. Going back seven starts, Pinto is 0-6 with an ERA of 10.26. During this stretch, he has allowed 38 runs over 33.1 innings. Even against the Tigers, Pinto has been terrible, going 0-1 with a 7.36 ERA over two starts. Specifically against KIA, he has allowed nine runs over 11.0 innings.

Hyun-jong Yang will start for the KIA Tigers. He is 8-6 on the season, but still has an ERA of 5.21. He obviously has been better than his opponent, but I do believe he will still allow a couple of runs, which will push this total over.

KT Wiz/LG Twins Under 9.5 Runs (-136)

Starting this game for the KT Wiz will be Hyeong-jun So, who is 8-5 with an ERA of 4.46. His ERA does not necessarily do him justice as he has been light out over his last six starts. During this stretch, So has gone 4-0, having allowed six runs over 34.2 innings pitched. That gives him an ERA of 1.56 over these starts.

The Twins plan to counter with Tyler Wilson in this spot, who is 8-6 with a 3.82 ERA. Wilson has also looked solid over his last six starts, going 4-1 with an ERA of 2.78. During this stretch, he has allowed 11 runs over 35.2 innings. It is also worth noting that Wilson has one start against this KT Wiz team, a game where he allowed one run over 6.0 innings.

The LG Twins are only averaging 3.8 runs per game over their last five an allowing 3.8 runs as well. The KT Wiz are scoring about 5.0 runs per game, but their defense has been even better, allowing just 2.6 runs over the same stretch.

Doosan Bears/NC Dinos Under 12.5 Runs (-122)

This is another game between the top teams where I think the total is just set too high. Even with the potential of their lacking starters, I am still looking towards this game to have a reasonable score. Starting for the Dinos will be Jin-ho Kim. He has just two starts on the year, having not earned a decision. His ERA is already 4.91 after having allowed four runs over 7.1. Both his starts saw him last less than 5.0 innings, so he may just be used as an opener.

Starting for the Bears will be Hui-kwan Yu, who is 7-7 with a 4.95 ERA. His numbers have been so much better over his last three starts, allowing just four runs over 17.2 innings. This translates to an ERA of 2.04. The under is 4-1 in the Bears’ last five games and I am going to back that trend here with another under play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +519.
