KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Doosan Bears/KT Wiz Under 10.5 Runs (-112)

I will be backing a lower scoring game here based on the starting pitching. Chris Flexen will start for the Doosan Bears and he is 5-4 with an ERA of 3.80. His last five starts have seen him allow 11 runs over his last 26.0 innings. He only has one start against the KT Wiz, allowing one run over 3.0 innings.

Hyeong-jun So will start for the KT Wiz and he is 11-4 on the season. His ERA is 4.11, but over his last five starts, he has an ERA of 2.96. Over this stretch, he has allowed nine runs over 27.1 innings. Against the Bears, So has allowed five runs over 22.0 innings and has an ERA of 2.05 with a record of 3-0. As a result of two solid pitchers, at least as of recently, I will back the under.

LG Twins Money Line (-166)

The Twins will start Casey Kelly in this spot. He is 12-7 on the season with an ERA of 3.54. His last six starts have been much more impressive, allowing nine runs over his last 38.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 2.13 over this stretch.

The Dinos will start Sung-young Choi. He is 2-3 on the season with an ERA of 5.97. His last six starts have been quite awful. He has allowed 19 runs over his last 22.2 innings. That gives him an ERA of 7.54 during this stretch.

This game really comes down to the pitching match-up and I cannot back Choi and the Dinos. At least Kelly has been good as of late, so I will back the Twins to keep their hold on 4th place in the standings.

SK Wyverns/Kia Tigers Over 9.5 Runs (-104)

I am looking to fade two horrible pitchers here and will look for the bats on both teams to come to life. The Wyverns will start Jong-hoon Park, who is 10-10 on the season, but has an ERA of 5.09. His last five starts have resulted in him allowing 13 runs over 27.1 innings, but he still is extremely inconsistent. Against the Tigers, Park has allowed nine runs over 11.0 innings. This was over a span of two starts.

On the other side will be Ki-young Im for the Kia Tigers. He is 7-10 on the season with an ERA of 5.52. His last five starts has seen him allow 22 runs over his last 22.0 innings. The over is 7-0 in their last head to head meetings, so I will back the over and will look for these pitchers to continue struggling.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +494.
