KBO picks and predictions

Saturday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz/Hanwha Eagles Over 10.5 Runs (-104)

Because of the rain-out on Friday, Chad Bell is expected to make the start for the Hanwha Eagles. He is 0-6 on the year with an abysmal 7.44 ERA. Also, he has allowed five earned runs in three of his last five starts. Bell has made one start against the KT Wiz this season, allowing five runs in five innings of work.

The KT Wiz will counter with Hyeong-jun So. He is 5-5 on the year with an ERA of 5.29. Hyeong-jun So has faced the Eagles twice this year, having allowed 13 runs over eight innings against them. That translates to an ERA of 14.63, so the over is the only way I can look.

Lotte Giants/Doosan Bears Under 9.5 Runs (-112)

An under play in this game is heavily reliant on the Doosan starte, Raul Alcantara. He has so far been lights out, posting a record of 10-1 with a 2.79 ERA. Just over his last six starts, he is 3-0, having allowed six runs over 40 innings, which gives him an ERA of 1.35 over this stretch. Here is where it gets tricky as the Giants plan to start Kyung-eun Noh. He has not as prominent, posting a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 5.12. At the very least, he pitched seven shutout innings in his most recent start, showing promise that he can turn things around. Plus, the Giants are allowing just 1.2 runs per game over their last five, so an under play here looks like the right side.

KIA Tigers Moneyline (-118)

The Tigers and Dinos had game one of their series postponed due to rain, so they will open the series on Saturday morning. KIA plans to start Drew Gagnon, who looks to be one of their better starters this year. Gagnon is 6-4 with a 3.91 ERA. Though he did have some struggles in his last game against the Lotte Giants, Gagnon has pitched exceptionally well against the NC Dinos. A small sample size of just one game, but he allowed just two runs over 6.1 innings. Kia have lost four of their last five, and really need a strong performance against the league’s top team. The Tigers have fared well against the Dinos starter, Mike Wright, so I will back the Tigers here to break out of their slump.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +585.
