KBO picks and predictions

Because of a few doubleheaders, Saturday’s seven-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KIA Tigers/Doosan Bears Over 9.5 Runs (-128)

Looking to fade these starters here and that mainly includes Kia’s Min-woo Lee. He is 6-9 this season with an ERA of 6.42. His last five starts have been absolutely awful. He has allowed 20 runs over his last 20.1 innings. Also, against the Bears, he has an ERA of 5.19.

Chris Flexen will make the start for the Bears and is clearly the better pitcher. Though he has allowed nine runs over his last 21.0 innings. Against the Tigers, he has an ERA of 4.50, so they have hit him hard in general. The over is 4-1 in their last five head to head meetings and the Bears are scoring an average of 6.2 runs over their last five games.

I will look for both pitchers to struggle here against teams that have had success against them and therefore, I will take the over.

Kiwoom Heroes -1.5 Run Line (+100)

The Heroes will start Hyun-hee Han, who is 7-8 on the season with an ERA of 4.81. His last three starts however, have all been shutouts and that was over a total of 18.1 innings. The Wyverns will counter with Jong-hoon Park, who is 9-10 on the year with an ERA of 5.22. His last three starts have been far worse, allowing 11 runs over his last 15.1 innings.

Just given the lack of quality on this Wyverns team and the fact that they have now lost eight of their last 10 games, I want nothing to do with them. As a result, I will back the Heroes on the run line.

LG Twins/KT Wiz Under 10.5 Runs (-122) (Game one)

I will be more than likely trusting the Twins pitcher here as they have Casey Kelly taking the mound. He is 11-7 on the season with an ERA of 3.59. Though over his last five starts, he has allowed just seven runs over 31.0 innings. He has also pitched at least 6.0 innings in all five of these starts, so we should get a prolonged outing here as well to keep the bullpen usage to a minimum.

On the other side is Min-soo Kim for the KT Wiz. He is 3-7 with a 6.01 ERA. His last five starts have not been very good, allowing 17 runs over his last 23.1 innings. However, he has limited opponents to three runs or less in three straight starts. The under is 4-1 in their last five head to head meetings and I will look to back it here as well.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +548.
