KBO picks and predictions

Saturday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KIA Tigers/Hanwha Eagles Over 9.5 Runs (-110)

Picking on two bad pitchers here, we will look for a bunch of runs to be scored in this game. The Tigers will start Min-woo Lee, who is 5-7 on the season with an ERA of 5.69. He has been even worse recently, going 1-4 with an ERA of 7.13. During this stretch, he has allowed 19 runs over his last 24.0 innings.

Hanwha will counter with Warwick Saupold, who is 6-11 and has an ERA of 5.25. Like his opponent, he has been awful over his last five starting, posting a record of 1-3 with an ERA of 7.61. During these starts, he has allowed 20 runs over his last 23.2 innings. Saupold has also been terrible against the Tigers this year, having only faced them once, but allowing six runs over 5.1 innings for an ERA of 10.13. I do not see the pitching getting any better, so I will back the over here.

Kiwoom Heroes Money Line (-136)

Two much better pitchers here as Jake Brigham will start for the Kiwoom Heroes and William Cuevas will be on the mound for the KT Wiz. Brigham is 5-2 this season with an ERA of 3.50. He has especially been good against the KT Wiz, going 1-0 against them over just one start with an ERA of 1.29. He has also allowed just four runs over his last four starts, posting an ERA of 1.44 over this stretch.

Cuevas has not been a bad pitcher either, going 6-5 with an ERA of 3.88. He more so has just struggled when facing the Heroes, going 0-2 against them over three starts with an ERA of 7.16. Because Brigham has been pitching better overall, I am going to take the Heroes here to win this game.

Doosan Bears -1.5 Run Line (-152)

Starting this game for the Wyverns will be Geon-wook Lee. He is 5-5 on the season with an ERA of 4.94. His recent starts have backed up his season stats and have been worse actually, seeing that he has allowed 16 runs over his last 23.1 innings pitched. That gives him an ERA of 6.17 over this stretch.

Won-joon Choi will make the start on the other side for Doosan and he is a perfect 8-0 with an ERA of 3.91. His last five starts in particular have been about average, allowing nine runs over his last 25.0 innings, giving him ERA of 3.23 over this stretch.

Doosan have won the last four meetings in a row, each by at least two runs, so I do believe the best play is a Doosan win on the run line.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +549.
