KBO picks and predictions

Sunday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KIA Tigers Money Line (-124)

A huge pitching mismatch here as the Kia Tigers will start Aaron Brooks and the Kiwoom Heroes will start. Brooks has been lights out this season, going 7-4 with a 2.70 ERA. He is also 1-1 against the Heroes with a 2.50 ERA. His opponent will be Hyun-hee Han. He has been far worse, posting a record of 6-6 with an ERA of 5.86. He has made one start against the Tigers, an outing where he allowed seven runs over 2.0 innings. That translates to an ERA of 31.50. I do not understand why the Tigers are still short of a favorite, so I will gladly back them to pick up the win.

 NC Dinos/KT Wiz Under 11.5 Runs (-132)

On the surface, neither starting pitcher has great numbers this season. Sung-young Choi will start for the NC Dinos and is 2-2 with a 4.92 ERA. He still has not allowed more than four runs in a game, so he can certainly keep the KT Wiz bats at bay.

Hyeong-jun So will be the starter for the KT Wiz. He is 7-5 on the season with a 4.64 ERA. Though over his last five starts, he has allowed just five runs over 29.2 innings. He has a modest ERA of 3.00 against the Dinos and should be able to slow them down as well. This total just feels a tad too high, so an under would be my play here.

Lotte Giants/Samsung Lions Under 9.5 Runs (-112)

Dan Straily takes the mound for the Lotte Giants and has been by far one of the best pitchers in the KBO, posting a record of 7-4 with a 2.43 ERA. The good news for Straily is that he has pitched extremely well against the Lions, going 1-0 against them with a 2.29 ERA.

Chae-heung Choi has not fared as well as Straily, going 6-3 with a 4.22 ERA. His last start was a shutout over 5.2 innings. He has had plenty of success against this Giants team, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.32 ERA.

Samsung is only averaging 4.8 runs per game over their last five, while allowing 5.2 runs. The Giants are scoring even less runs during the same stretch, 4.0 runs per game. Their defense has been better though, allowing just 4.2 runs.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +500.
