KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s 5-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Lotte Giants – Under 10.5 Runs (-115)

The total looks to be a bit easier to predict here, especially seeing that there were 3 runs scored in Wednesday’s game. The Heroes were shut out as well, so this does not look like an offense we can trust at the moment. Lotte’s Park Se-Woong has not faced the Heroes this year, so he should have the advantage for at least a few innings. Kiwoom’s Lee Seung-ho only has 2.0 innings of relief against the Giants, so it seems unlikely that he will go out and give up a crooked number. Neither team has a fantastic offense, so with the pitchers looking to have an advantage, the under will be the play.

Samsung Lions -1.5 (-165) vs Hanwha Eagles

The Samsung Lions were impressive in their win on Wednesday morning, beating the Hanwha Eagles by a score of 6-1. They are now 4 games out of first place and will need to keep beating up on the bottom dwellers if they are going to catch the KT Wiz. They will have a perfect opportunity to do just that as David Buchanan will take the mound on Thursday morning. It is safe to say that Buchanan has been one of the best pitchers in the KBO this season. He has a record of 9-3 and a stellar ERA of 2.49. His 2-0 record against the Eagles is just as impressive, plus his ERA against them is 2.00.

The Eagles are seriously struggling this season and are now 23 games under .500. Their pitcher for this game will be Kim Ki-Joong, but he has not been impressive at all. Ki-Joong has a record of 0-3 and his ERA is currently 5.63. To make matters worse, he is 0-1 against the Lions and his ERA against them is 4.91.

This is a game where you just need to go with the hotter team and that is the Lions. Buchanan has been stellar all season, so backing the Lions on the run line will be the play.

Kia Tigers vs Doosan Bears – Over 8 Runs (-110)

The recent performances from Choi Won-Joon would suggest that a high-scoring game is likely here. We know his overall ERA is a solid 3.00, but over his last 2 starts, he has allowed 8 earned runs in 7.2 innings pitched. Also, taking a deeper dive into his struggles against Kia, we see that he has just 1 start. That lone start saw him allow 5 runs over 5.1 innings.

As for Kia’s Daniel Mengden, he has not actually faced the Bears this season. His 2 most recent starts could also be a cause for concern, allowing 6 runs over his last 11.0 innings. Plenty of runs were scored on Wednesday and with a struggling Doosan pitcher, we will look for the same here.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay, which pays out at +473.
