KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Samsung Lions Money Line (-106)

This is another game where we will be fading a horrible pitcher. That being Chad Bell for the Hanwha Eagles, who is 1-7 this season with a 6.44 ERA. He finally earned his first win on the season in his most recent start, allowing one run over 6.0 innings, however I do not expect his good pitching to continue. Plus you can almost never expect the Eagles to provide enough run support, as they have one of the worst offenses.

Starting for the Lions will be Dae-woo Kim. He is 3-4 on the year with an ERA of 3.34. He has mainly come out of the bullpen, and has not made a start since the end of June. Really I just cannot trust Bell and the Eagles, especially as favorites, so I will back Samsung.

Kiwoom Heroes/Lotte Giants Under 10.5 Runs (-108)

They will turn to Kyung-eun Noh in this game, who is 4-4 with an ERA of 4.44. His last couple of starts have been very good, allowing just four runs over his last 24.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 1.50 over that stretch. Kiwoom will be expected to start Tae-hoon Kim, who is 5-0 on the season and has an ERA of 3.91. Kim has actually made just one start this season, but it was almost more of an ‘opener’ role as he allowed one run over 2.0 innings.

The Heroes are averaging just 4.6 runs over their last five games, while allowing 5.0. The Giants have been much defensive minded, allowing just 3.0 runs over their last five games and scoring 5.4 runs. The under is 9-1 in these teams last 10 head to head meetings, so I will back that trend and take the under here.

Doosan Bears/NC Dinos Under 12.5 Runs (-126)

Two of the best teams in the KBO face off on Thursday, but this total just feels way too high. The Dinos will be starting Myung-gi Song, who is 1-0 on the year with a 3.62 ERA. He will be making his second start of the season here, having come out of the bullpen pretty much the entire year. His first start saw him allow just one run over 5.2 innings.

Seung-jin Lee will be the starter for the Bears. He is 0-1 on the year with a 4.02 ERA. He will be making his fourth start of the season here, having allowed four runs over his last 14.0 innings pitched. It is true that both teams are averaging about 6.4 runs over their last five games, but Doosan is only allowing 3.4 runs over the same stretch. This total just feels too high, so I would take the under.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +571.
