KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz Moneyline (-104)

This looks to be another game where the better pitcher is deemed an underdog by bookmakers. That being William Cuevas, who will make the start for the KT Wiz. Cuevas is 5-2 on the season, posting an ERA of 3.82. His last four starts have been elite however, going 22.2 innings, allowing just three earned runs. This translates to an ERA of 1.19, so clearly Cuevas is feeling it at the moment.

His mound opponent will be Hyun-hee Han for the Kiwoom Heroes, who is 5-5 on the year with a 6.14 ERA. Over his last four starts alone, he has allowed 15 runs in 20.1 innings pitched (6.64 ERA), so I look for him to struggled again. Even though Cuevas has struggled against Kiwoom this year, I will still back the better pitcher and take the KT Wiz to win.

KIA Tigers Moneyline (-148)

The Tigers will hope to salvage a game in this series as Aaron Brooks will make the start in the series finale. Brooks has been one of Kia’s more reliable pitchers, posting a 6-3 record with a 2.42 ERA. In one start against the Twins, Brooks is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA. Brooks has looked even better as of late. going 3-0 over his last three starts, posting an ERA of 2.08. The Twins plan to counter with Chan-gyu Lim. He is 7-3 on the year, with an ERA of 3.57. Because Brooks has had a little more success against the Tigers than Lim against the Twins, I will back Kia to get back into the win column as a lean.

NC Dinos/Hanwha Eagles Under 9.5 Runs (-120)

This under play mostly has to do with who will be starting for each team. For the Dinos, we have Drew Rucinski, who has clearly been one of the best pitchers in the KBO all season.  He is 10-1 on the year with a 2.36 ERA. His opponent will be Shi-hwan Jang. Now Jang is only 3-6 on the season with a 4.54 ERA, but over his last seven starts, he has improved his pitching dramatically. Over said starts, Jang is 2-2, but has an ERA of 2.66. He has clearly found a rhythm, so I think he can translate as least a solid outing to this game as well. It is tough backing an under with the NC Dinos involved, but the improving Jang has me believing this under can cash.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +502.
