  • Lotte Giants (-132) @ SK Wyverns (+108)

KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s three-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kia Tigers/Hanwha Eagles Over 8.5 Runs (-130)

Starting for the visiting Tigers will be Drew Gagnon. He is 10-7 on the season and has an ERA 4.21.  His last nine starts, dating back to the end of August, has seen him allow 21 runs over 54.1 innings. That gives him an ERA of 3.48 during this stretch.

Hanwha will plan to counter with Min-jae Jang, who is 2-6 on the season with an ERA of 6.29. Jang has come out of the bullpen quite often this season and has made just nine starts. As a starts, Jang is 1-6 with an ERA of 7.65. He has allowed 34 runs over 40.0 innings.

The Eagles as a whole have also allowed an average of 7.0 runs over their last five games. The only issue is they only have scored an average of 3.0 per those five games. Not to worry too much because the Tigers have even worse defensively, allowing an average of 8.8 runs over their own last five games and are scoring an average of 5.4 runs.

KT Wiz/Doosan Bears Over 9.5 Runs (+108)

We have two struggling pitchers here in this game, so I am going to look towards the over. William Cuevas will start for the KT Wiz and he is 10-8 with an ERA of 4.10. He has been slightly below average over his last five starts as well, allowing 16 runs over his last 28.1 innings. Also, keep in mind that Cuevas has an ERA of 4.76 against this Doosan team.

The Bears will counter with Hui-kwan Yu, who is 9-11 with an ERA of 5.20. His last five starts have resulted in him allowing 12 runs over just 21.0 innings. The more concern fact is that Yu is 1-3 with an ERA against the KT Wiz. The Bears are scoring 7.4 runs over their last five games, so I will look for a ton of runs.

Lotte Giants/SK Wyverns Under 10.5 Runs (-120)

We might have slightly less experienced pitchers here to start this game, but they both have been pitching well enough to make me believe this total can stay under. The Giants will be starting Seung-heon Lee, who is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.60. Keep in mind that Lee has only had six starts this entire season. His first three starts were very shaky, but recently he has allowed just three runs over his last 18.0 innings.

Soo-min Jung will start for the SK Wyverns and he actually has less time as a starter. Through just two starts, Jung has allowed just one run over 10.2 innings. That gives him an ERA of 0.84. He is also coming off his first win of the season, a shutout over 6.0 innings against the KT Wiz. The under is 4-1 in their last five head to head meetings, so I will look for another low scoring game here.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +574.
