KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

LG Twins Run Line -1.5 (+108)

The Twins will look to snap their losing streak when they send Casey Kelly to the mound on Thursday morning. Kelly is 8-7 on the season, posting an ERA of 3.81. His numbers against the Heroes have also been excellent, going 2-0 against them with an ERA of 1.38.

To counter for the Heroes will be Hyun-hee Han. He has not fared as well, going 6-7 with an ERA of 5.70. His last five starts have been below average as well, allowing 16 runs over the last 27.0 innings.

There looks to be a clear pitching advantage with the Twins here, so I am going to look their way to pick up this win. Because their money line is too steep, I will elect to take them on the run line.

Kia Tigers Money Line (-106)

In pretty much a pick em’, I am going to look to the Tigers in this spot. They are starting Hyun-jong Yang here, who is 9-6 with an ERA of 4.82. His recent numbers would suggest he has figured things out however, going 3-0 over his last five starts, posting an ERA of 1.79. He has allowed six runs over his last 30.1 innings.

The Doosan Bears will counter with Hui-kwan Yu, who is 8-8 with an ERA of 5.21. He is 2-2 over his last five starts, allowing 12 runs over his last 26.2 innings. That translates to an ERA of 4.05 during this stretch.

I trust Yang and the Tigers much more here, so I will back them on the money line.

Samsung Lions/Lotte Giants Over 8.5 Runs (-130)

Normally when Dan Straily makes a start, you have to look at the under, but in this spot, we are going to look the other way. Straily is 10-4 this season with an ERA of 2.48. However, over his last five starts, he has allowed 14 runs over his last 29.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 4.34.

On the other side will be Dae-woo Kim, who is 3-5 with a 3.53 ERA. He has made a total of seven starts this season, allowing 17 runs over 33.1 innings. He has an ERA of 4.59 as a starter, so I look for the Giants to have success offensively.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +615.
