KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Lotte Giants Money Line (-148)

No surprise here, but we will be looking to fade the Hanwha Eagles once again. They are starting Warwick Saupold, who is 6-13 with an ERA of 5.44. His last five starts have been horrible, allowing 20 runs over his last 27.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 6.67 over this stretch. He has also been poor against the Eagles, posting a record of 0-4 with an ERA of 5.40.

The Giants will be countering with Se-woong Park, who is 8-7 with an ERA of 4.18. His last five starts have been much more respectable, allowing 10 runs over his last 30.0 innings. He has yet to face Hanwha, but I cannot possibly back Saupold, so it would be the Giants or nothing.

LG Twins/NC Dinos Over 11.5 Runs (-116)

We may have two of the top teams in the KBO here, but we certainly do not have the quality pitching. The Twins will start Min-ho Lee, who is 4-3 this season with an ERA of 4.44. His last five starts will be a disaster, allowing 25 runs over his last 26.0 innings.

Sung-young Choi will counter for the NC Dinos. He is 2-3 with an ERA of 5.40. Though his last five starts tell have been even worse, seeing that he has allowed 14 runs over his last 20.1 innings pitched.

With the lack of pitching, I am going to look to the over, even at this high number.

KT Wiz Money Line (-130)

KT Wiz is expected to start Hyeong-jun So in this game, who is 10-5 with an ERA of 4.28. This below average ERA however, does not tell the whole story. So has been excellent over his last 10 starts in particular, allowing a total of 15 runs over his last 57.0 innings. That gives him an ERA of 2.37 during this stretch.

The Tigers will counter with Drew Gagnon, who is 9-5 on the season with an ERA of 4.11. Comparing his last 10 starts shows that Gagnon has allowed 27 runs over his last 56.2 innings. That translates to an ERA of 4.29.

The KT Wiz have been in excellent form, winning four of their last five, while the Tigers are in the midst of a three-game losing streak. As a result, I will look for the KT Wiz to win this game.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +452.
