KBO picks and predictions

Thursday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

KT Wiz -1.5 Run Line (+106)

Two teams going in opposite directions will meet on Thursday morning. The KT Wiz are clinging on to a playoff spot, while the Wyverns continue to sit in the cellar at 9th place. The Wyverns have lost four of their last five games and four in a row. Things do not look to be getting any better as they will start Ricardo Pinto in this spot. He is 4-11 on the season with an ERA of 6.37. Even worse is the fact that Pinto is 0-6 in his last six starts, allowing 35 runs over 27.2 innings of work. This gives him an ERA of 11.39 during this stretch, so clearly he has lost his touch.

The KT Wiz will counter with Hyeong-jun So, who is 8-5 on the season with an ERA of 4.47. Though over his last six starts, he is 4-0, having allowed seven runs over his last 34.2 innings. That gives him an ERA of 1.82 over this stretch.

Hanwha Eagles +1.5 Run Line (-128)

Never thought I would say this, but I will be looking to back Chad Bell and the Hanwha Eagles here. Bell started the season 0-7 with an ERA of 7.00+, but over his last three starts, he is 2-0, having allowed one run over his last 19.0 innings, giving him an ERA of 0.47 over this stretch.

His opponent will be Jung-hyun Yoon, who has yet to record a decision, but has an ERA of 9.82. He has made exactly one start this season, allowing four runs over 4.2 innings, so even against the Eagles, I am not expecting a good performance.

I am still hesitant because it is Hanwha, so I will take them on the run line just in case they lose a tight game.

LG Twins Money Line (-146)

Fading the NC Dinos here as they have Young-gyu Kim on the mound. Kim is 0-1 on the season, having posted an ERA of 7.18. He has been coming out of the bullpen recently, making his last start back in May. Over his four starts, he allowed 11 runs in 18.0 innings, giving him an ERA of 5.50.

On the other side is Tyler Wilson for the Twins, who is 8-6 with a 4.02 ERA. He has been better as of late, allowing 12 runs over his last 30.2 innings. This gives him an ERA of 3.52 over this stretch.

I have no faith in the NC Dinos guy, so I will back the Twins here to pick up the win.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +518.
