KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s 5-game slate features some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kia Tigers vs Doosan Bears ML (-166)

The Kia Tigers will start Daniel Mengden, who is 4-2 on the season and has an ERA of 4.23. He has not looked great against the Bears either, making this a spot to fade him. On the other side, the Doosan Bears will start Ariel Miranda, who has been one of their better pitchers throughout the season. He has a record of 10-4 and his ERA is 2.57.

There clearly looks to be a lopsided pitching matchup on Tuesday with Miranda dominating and Mengden appearing average at best. For that reason, backing the Bears is going to be the play.

KT Wiz vs Hanwha Eagles – Under 9.5 runs (-118)

This total is interesting because we have 2 pitchers with similar ERAs, although they are complete opposites when facing each other’s teams. So Hyeung-Jin is 1-1 against the Eagles but has a solid ERA of 2.61 against them. He has 4 starts against them, allowing 6 runs over 20.2 innings. This appears to be enough of a sample size to indicate he can deliver another solid performance.

On the other side, Kim Ki-Joong has an ERA of 8.31 against the KT Wiz. Though this is only over 1 start, where he allowed 4 runs in 4.1 innings. While this is not good, 1 start does not always show everything. Over his last 2 starts, he has shown improvement, allowing 3 runs over 8.2 innings. That includes his most recent start where he pitched 5.0 innings of shutout baseball.

Given the success that Hyeung-Jin has enjoyed against the Eagles and the steady improvement from Ki-Joong, backing the under here will be the play.

LG Twins ML (-205) vs Lotte Giants

The LG Twins will be starting Andrew Suarez. He is 8-2 on the season and has an excellent ERA of 2.51. He has also fared extremely well against the Heroes over a few starts. The Lotte Giants will start Choi Yeong-Hwan, who has also put together a solid year. He is 1-1 on the campaign and has an ERA of 3.67.

Both pitchers are serviceable in this matchup, however, Suarez looks to be much stronger. Given his dominance this season as a whole, backing the Twins will be the play.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay which pays out at +340.
