KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kia Tigers/NC Dinos Over 10.5 Runs (-104)

We all but have to fade two struggling pitchers here starting with Mike Wright and the NC Dinos. Wright is 11-7 on the season with an ERA of 4.58. Though his last five starts have resulted in him allowing 19 runs over his last 26.2 innings. That gives him an ERA of 6.41 during this stretch. He also has struggled when facing the Tigers, allowing 12 runs over 25.0 innings in four starts.

Hyun-jong Yang will make the start for the Kia Tigers and is 9-8 with an ERA of 4.66 this season. His last five starts have been a little better, though he still has allowed 13 runs over his last 29.2 innings. More concerning is his track record against the Dinos. In his lone start against the Dinos, Yang allowed eight runs over 4.1 innings. That in turn gives him an ERA of 16.62 against this team.

Because both guys are struggling, I will look for plenty of runs to be scored in this game.

Kiwoom Heroes/KT Wiz Under 9.5 Runs (-106)

Here we will be looking for more defense and specifically a dominating pitching performance from the Kiwoom Heroes. The Heroes will start Eric Jokisch, who is 12-4 with an ERA of 2.02. His last five starts have been even better, allowing five runs over his last 33.0 innings. That translates to an ERA of 1.36. He also has been excellent against the KT Wiz, posting an ERA of 1.80 over three starts.

On the other side will be Dae-eun Lee for the KT Wiz. He is not having the greatest season, but has pitched well against this Heroes team. It is a very small sample size, but in two relief appearances against the Heroes, Lee did not give up a run.

Because we have Jokisch on the mound, Lee just needs to limit the damage which is what has me on the under in this game.

LG Twins/Lotte Giants Under 9.5 Runs (-112)

Another solid pitching match-up here as Dan Straily will take the mound for the Giants. Straily is 12-4 on the year with an ERA of 2.60. He has allowed just six runs over his last 33.0 innings, giving him an ERA of 1.64 during this stretch. He has been even more dominant against the Twins, allowing one run against them over 15.1 innings.

Won-suk Ryu will be the starter for the Twins, but he has not had much action this season. He has yet to face the Giants, so he very well could have the element of surprise early on. This will also be his first start of the season.

Still, with Straily on the mound, runs should come very sparingly. I will back the under here and look for Ryu to limit the Giants enough in his starting debut.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +621.
