KBO picks and predictions

Tuesday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Hanwha Eagles/Kia Tigers Over 8.5 Runs (-126)

This is more of a fade of the Hanwha Eagles starter, Warwick Saupold. He has clearly been horrible this season, posting a record of 7-13 with an ERA of 5.09. His last six starts have seen him allow 20 runs over his last 33.1 runs. He has been even worse against the Tigers, allowing 10 runs over 10.1 innings.

Drew Gagnon will start for the Kia Tigers and he has a record of 10-5 with an ERA of 3.97. He has been decent against the Eagles, posting an ERA of 3.09 against them. Both teams are allowing about 6.0 runs per game over their last five games and the over is 4-1 in the last five games for the Eagles. This total feels too low with Saupold on the mound, so I will take the over.

Samsung Lions Money Line (-116)

Starting this game for the Twins will be Nam Ho. He has very little experience this season, having just made three appearances. He has not earned a decision, but has an ERA of 2.57, so he has been good so far.

Ben Lively will make the start for the Samsung Lions and he is 4-7 with an ERA of 4.09. His last five starts have very solid, allowing seven runs over his last 33.0 innings. The Lions have also played very well against the Twins this season, winning eight of their 13 head to head meetings. Lively has much more starting experience and as a result, I will back the Lions to win here as well.

NC Dinos/Kiwoom Heroes Under 9.5 Runs (-112)

We will be looking to back a lower scoring game here based on the recent performances of the starting pitchers. For the Dinos, we have Young-gyu Kim, who has an ERA of 5.36. This obviously is not good, however over his last five starts, he has allowed nine runs over his last 24 innings. This comes out to a more reasonable ERA of 3.38.

Eric Jokisch will start for the Heroes and his 2.04 ERA speaks for itself. He has an ERA of 1.86 over his last five starts, so he has been even better as of late. The Dinos are allowing 3.8 runs over their last five games and the Heroes are scoring an average of 3.6 runs. Based on the improved pitching of Kim, I am going to back the under as Jokisch should also be able to handle this Dinos’ offense with no issue.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +532.
