KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s 8-game slate features some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Kia Tigers vs Doosan Bears -1.5 (-135)

Tuesday’s morning game was canceled due to rain, so the Kia Tigers and Doosan Bears will look to resume their series on Wednesday. They are expected to play a doubleheader on Wednesday, with this game being the first game. Because the game was canceled, not much has changed in the standings. The Bears still sit in 7th, trailing 5th place by 2.5 games. They will start Ariel Miranda here, who has been one of their best pitchers this entire season. Miranda has a record of 10-4 on the year with an ERA of 2.57.

The Kia Tigers will counter with Yoon Joong-Hyun, who has not recorded a decision, but still has a respectable ERA of 3.51. He has struggled against the Bears, but does not have a huge sample size.

Backing the Bears in this game feels almost too easy, but there is nothing to indicate Joong-Hyun is going to improve. Miranda has just been too dominant for the Bears this season, so backing them on the run line will be the top play.

NC Dinos vs SSG Landers +1.5 (-135)

Wednesday will be an important game for both teams as they sit 5th and 6th in the standings. The NC Dinos is the team in 5th at the moment and will start Drew Rucinski in this spot. He has been solid this season, posting an ERA of 3.11 with a record of 9-7. Though, his last 3 starts have all been losses, so there should be some concern going forward.

The SSG Landers are the team in 6th place and will pass the NC Dinos with a win on Wednesday. They will start Lee Tae-Yang, who is 4-5 on the season and has an ERA of 4.77. He has also struggled recently, allowing at least 3 runs in 2 of his last 3 starts.

As good as Rucinski has been this season, his recent starts are starting to become inconsistent. Tae-Yang has been excellent against the Dinos this season, so backing the SSG Landers to cover the +1.5-run line will be the play.

Kiwoom Heroes vs Samsung Lions -1.5 (-130)

The Samsung Lions opened their series against the Kiwoom Heroes on Tuesday morning, beating them 3-2. They are currently in 3rd place and trail 1st place by 4 games. They also are 4 games clear of 4th place for the time being. The Lions plan to start David Buchanan, who is 10-3 on the season with a record of 10-3, while his ERA is 2.63.

The Kiwoom Heroes will counter by sending Kim Dong-Hyeok to the mound. He is 0-1 on the season, but still has a decent ERA of 3.44. He has allowed at least 3 runs in 2 of his last 3 starts, which is why fading him here looks to be a solid option.

The Lions are still looking to improve their KBO standing, while also trying to hold off this Heroes team from catching them. The Lions look to have a clear advantage on the mound with Buchanan dominating teams in almost all his starts. For that reason, backing the Lions to win on the run line will be the play here.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a 3-team parlay which pays out at +436.
