KBO picks and predictions

Wednesday’s five-game slate will feature some lopsided matchups that offer value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

Hanwha Eagles/Samsung Lions Under 9.5 Runs – Game 1 (-128)

We will be looking to take advantage of two pitchers here who are starting to find their rhythm. That being David Buchanan for the Samsung Lions and Min-woo Kim for the Hanwha Eagles. Kim is just 4-8 this season with a 4.10 ERA, but over his last five starts, he has allowed 10 runs over 25.1 innings. That gives him an ERA of 3.55 over this stretch. Also, in his one start against the Lions, he allowed just one run over 5.0 innings.

Buchanan has been much better overall, posting a record of 12-6 with an ERA of 3.70. Over his last five starts, he is 4-0 with an ERA of 2.41. Neither offense is very good this season, so an under would be my pick.

LG Twins/KIA Tigers Over 9.5 Runs (-110)

The Twins will start Tyler Wilson in this spot, who is 8-6 with an ERA of 4.12. He has especially been lacking as of late, allowing 15 runs over his last five starts (30.2 innings), giving him an ERA of 4.40 during this stretch.

Kia will counter with Drew Gagnon, who has not been much better. He is 8-4 on the season, but has an ERA of 4.42. His last five starts have also been shaky, allowing 18 runs over his last 27.2 innings. That translates to an ERA of 5.86. He also has been terrible against Kia, going 0-1 against them in one start, allowing five runs over 4.0 innings.

The over is 8-4 in their 12 head to head meetings this season, so I will look for the offenses to heat up against two struggling pitchers.

Kiwoom Heroes Money Line (-154)

Starting this game for the Wyverns will be Seung-geon Baek. He is 0-4 on the season with an ERA of 7.57. He has made a total of six starts this season and two relief appearances. Over his six starts, he has allowed 20 runs over just 21.1 innings, giving him an ERA of 8.44.

On the other side for the Kiwoom Heroes will be Young-gun Jo. He has not impressed either, going 2-1 with a 5.52 ERA. However, he is coming off his best start of the season where he lasted 5.0 innings against the NC Dinos and did not allow a run. Also, note he has made one start against this SK Wyverns team, holding them to one earned run over just 3.2 innings.

I cannot possibly back Baek in this situation, so I am going to lean to Kiwoom to get the job done.

For those of you looking for bigger payouts, play the best bets as a three-team parlay, which pays +460.
