We cashed our Guardians/Twins same game parlay last night, so let’s make it 2 in a row! The Giants and Cubs have been playing early afternoon games this weekend, however now they’ll be the only ones featured for tonight’s ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. All eyes will be on them, despite having lackluster seasons. The postseason is unlikely for both teams, so they’ll certainly want to show out on national television tonight. With the series split, let’s break down this finale and make it a profitable one. Along with this same game parlay, be sure to check out our MLB picks for all of today’s games.

Giants -1.5 (+140)

Evan Longoria 2+ total bases (+120)

Parlay odds: +330

Let’s take a closer look at each leg of our same game parlay.

San Francisco Giants -1.5 (+140) over Chicago Cubs

The Giants opened up this series with their lefty ace Carlos Rodon, but were unable to get the win behind him. They were expected to have one of the league’s top starting rotations, and it has indeed been strong. Alex Wood was one of the pieces, but is now on the injured list. That’s why reliever John Brebbia is starting this game. Thankfully for him, he should expect enough run support and help lead his team to a win. The Giants will be facing an aging lefty in Wade Miley, who missed nearly 3 full months of the season before returning last week.

Miley gave up 3 quick runs to his former team, the Reds. That should provide confidence in the Giants getting an early lead as well. They’re on the fringe of the top 10 in terms of hitting lefties. The elephant in the room is Brebbia. However, keep in mind what the Cubs are currently dealing with. They’re going to be without two of their best hitters. Willson Contreras was a starter in this season’s all-star game and leads the team in home runs, and Patrick Wisdom is right behind him with the 2nd-most. Brebbia has racked up a 6-1 record as a reliever, so the Giants can pull off a big primetime win over a depleted Cubs squad.

Evan Longoria 2+ total bases (+120)

This play also supports the Giants having success tonight. They have several hitters with great history against Miley, including Evan Longoria. Looking at his raw numbers doesn’t do the all-star third baseman justice. He’s played in just 75 games this season. However, when he’s healthy, he can show out. That’s especially true against lefties. Longoria has a career .511 slugging percentage against such pitching, which is what he’ll be facing in Miley. He has proved that efficiency against Miley as well. In a large 37 at-bat sample size, Longoria has a .568 slugging percentage against him, including 3 home runs. He opened up this series hitting this prop, and was allowed a rest day yesterday. Therefore, trust Longoria with a great matchup against Miley.
