We are continuing the penultimate week of the 2022 Major League Baseball season with a 10-game slate on Thursday. It includes a National League West showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, while the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians are squaring off in a battle between playoff teams.

For this parlay, we are going with 3 run-line picks. Let’s break down each of the legs.

Don’t miss MLB picks for each of today’s games — we went 11-4 on ML/RL picks yesterday!

Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 over Miami Marlins (+122)

If Milwaukee is going to make the playoffs, it needs to get more out of Eric Lauer. The lefty has a 3.96 ERA and a 4.31 xERA through 147.2 innings and has failed to make it through the 3rd inning in each of his last 2 starts. Good news: he is facing Miami. The Marlins’ offense is one of the worst in the league, as they rank 25th in OPS in the last 30 days. Miami’s Braxton Garrett has shown potential, but he has a below-average fastball and has been susceptible to the long ball; 9 of the 31 earned runs he has allowed have come via homers. At this point in the season, the Marlins are giving their prospects a chance to see what they can do. Winning isn’t too important. It certainly is for the Brewers.

Seattle Mariners -1.5 over Texas Rangers (+180)

Seattle has a 4.5-game lead over Baltimore for the final American League wild-card spot with 8 games to play. That is a massive cushion, but not to the extent that the Mariners will be taking their foot off the gas pedal. Texas is 3-7 in its last 10 games and 8-17 in September after falling to Seattle on Wednesday. In addition to the Rangers being in poor form, they have also been picked on by the Mariners specifically this season. In 18 games of this season series, the Mariners are 13-5. Seattle also is 17-4 in its last 21 home games against the Rangers dating back to last season. There is no need to overthink this one; the Mariners should roll.

San Francisco Giants -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (-105)

Both NL West teams are well out of the playoffs, but you wouldn’t know it by the way the Giants have been playing of late. They have won 8 of their last 9 games, whereas the Rockies are limping toward the finish line of the season with 8 losses in their last 9 outings. Colorado will hand the ball to right-hander Ryan Feltner, who is 3-8 in 17 starts with a 6.15 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. The Giants will be going with left-hander Carlos Rodon. He has been solid all season, going 13-8 in 30 starts with a 2.98 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP. Even though he is coming off a rough start in his last game, he still is having a productive month with a 2.61 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP in September. This has all the makings of a rout.
