Monday’s NHL three-team mega parlay (+1274 odds): Blackhawks look to gain ground on idle Predators

Feb 11, 2021; Chicago, Illinois, USA; Chicago Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane (88) celebrates his goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets during the third period at United Center.

Its trade deadline day in the NHL but sixteen teams are still in action this evening. Our hockey expert has identified the best bets of the night and included them in a mega parlay. But be sure to also check out our picks for all eight of Monday’s NHL matchups here.

But right now, let’s break down our three-team mega parlay:

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 (+145)

Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 (+200)

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (-115)

Parlay odds: +1274

Winnipeg Jets over Ottawa Senators (+145)

The Jets come into this game winners of three straight and have a 7-2-1 record in their last ten games. Conversely, the Senators have lost four straight games and are 3-5-2 in their last ten. Things will get more challenging for the Senators as they have started to move pieces before the NHL trade deadline today at 3PM. Mike Reilly was one of the Senators best defenseman with 19 assists on the year, but he was just traded to the Boston Bruins late last night. This could pose some trouble for Matt Murray who is expected to make his first start since March 10th. Murray has a very poor 3.84 GAA and a .880 SV%. The Jets have beat the Sens in five of the six games this year and should have no problem taking this one by more than a goal. Look for Nikolaj Ehlers to remain hot as he has five points in his last three games.

Feb 21, 2021; Vancouver, British Columbia, CAN; Winnipeg Jets forward Blake Wheeler (26) and forward Mark Scheifele (55) celebrate ScheifeleÕs goal against the Vancouver Canucks in the third period at Rogers Arena. Jets won 4-3 in Overtime.

Chicago Blackhawks -1.5 over Columbus Blue Jackets (+200)

The Columbus Blue Jackets have struggled lately and seem to have lost their identity as a hard-nosed team that plays excellent defense. They have won just once in their last six games and have lost some key players along the way. Captain Nick Foligno was just traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs, David Savard was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Zach Werenski suffered a season ending injury. With the trade deadline upon us there is potential that even more players will be moved out before puck drop. Chicago is just four points out of the playoffs, and they will look to take advantage of their game-in-hand on the idle Predators. In seven meetings this year, the Blackhawks have won five games against the Blue Jackets. Patrick Kane has 10 points in his last 10 games and is tied for third in the league with 52 points in 42 games. He’ll be a key contributor if the Hawks expect to win this game.

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 over Arizona Coyotes (-115)

The Arizona Coyotes fell to the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 on Sunday while the Colorado Avalanche skated to an easy 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. With both teams playing the second leg of a back-to-back the advantage must go to the Avalanche who have a much deeper roster. While the Avalanche are led by Nathan MacKinnon and his 48 points, they also have a strong supporting cast which includes ten players with at least 20 points on the year. The Avalanche are averaging a league best 3.55 goals per game and are allowing the third least number of goals at 2.32. On the year they have a +50-goal differential compared to the Coyotes who have a -16-goal differential. Phil Kessel has not scored in his past five games while Conor Garland has just one goal in his last 12. The Avalanche also have a huge advantage in goal as Adin Hill played yesterday while the Avalanche saved Philipp Grubauer for tonight.
