Monday’s NHL three-team mega parlay (+1778 odds): Bruins look to remain perfect vs Flyers

Aug 29, 2020; Toronto, Ontario, CAN; Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand (63) skates against the Tampa Bay Lightning in game four of the second round of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs at Scotiabank Arena.

Another busy week of NHL action is ahead of us as we start off with seven games on the slate for Monday. Our hockey expert has identified the best bets of the day and included them in a mega parlay. But be sure to also check out our picks for all seven of Monday’s NHL matchups here.

But right now, let’s break down our three-team mega parlay:

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+145)

Edmonton Oilers (+100)

Los Angeles Kings -1.5 (+200)

Parlay odds: +1400

Boston Bruins -1.5 over Philadelphia Flyers (+145)

The Boston Bruins come into this game with confidence as they were finally able to break out offensively, scoring seven goals against the Penguins on Saturday. The Bruins will look to ride that momentum into their matchup vs the Flyers, who they have dominated this year. Boston is a perfect 5-0 in the head-to-head matchup with Philadelphia and outscored the Flyers by a 24-12 margin.

The Flyers enter this game with just three wins in their last ten games as they continue to struggle to keep the puck out of their net. In their last ten games, they are allowing a ridiculous 4.6 goals against. David Pastrnak has recently been dropped to the second line to help get David Krejci going and it seems to be working. Pastrnak picked up two goals and an assist on Saturday while Krejci now has five points in his last three games. Defensively, the Bruins remain one of the strongest teams in the league. They are allowing just 2.47 goals against per game which is over one full goal better than the Flyers, who are allowing 3.58. The Bruins have had the leagues’ top-ranked powerplay all season long and are killing off 89% of their minor penalties.

Edmonton Oilers over Montreal Canadiens (+100)

Despite falling to the Canadiens 4-0 recently, the Edmonton are playing well and are 6-3-1 in their last ten games. Edmonton is averaging 3.29 goals per game which is partly due to its power-play success rate which is now up to 26.5%. Connor McDavid has 64 points on the year and looks to be running away with the scoring title. The only player within 15 points of McDavid is teammate Leon Draisaitl who has himself an impressive 56 points.

Montreal is coming off a 6-3 loss to the last place Senators on Saturday night. The Canadiens have been unable to gain an edge on home ice this season winning just seven of their 15 games at the Bell Centre. Look for Edmonton to get revenge from their 4-0 defeat earlier in the week.

Los Angeles Kings -1.5 over Arizona Coyotes (+265)

Arizona is coming off an exciting 3-2 overtime win led by Jakob Chychrun’s three-goal performance. They will have little time to celebrate as they take on the Kings in LA this evening. The Kings have been resting since Saturday meanwhile this will be the Coyotes’ third game in four nights, and the second leg of a back-to-back.

The Kings will have a significant advantage in net as the Coyotes will likely go with fourth-string goalie Ivan Prosvetov in goal. Prosvetov made his NHL debut earlier in the week when he came in to relieve Adin Hill vs the Avalanche. Prosvetov allowed five goals against and had a save percentage of just 0.821.  The Kings will likely go with Cal Petersen who has a very solid 2.49 GAA and .926 SV%. Look for the Kings to jump on the Coyotes early and hold on for a puck line victory.
