Fresh off of their 7-point win in Game 4, the Boston Celtics head to TD Garden in hopes of eliminating the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 2 teams square off in Game 5 on Wednesday night. Jayson Tatum to record 1+ blocks (-135)

I know we’re normally accustomed to backing Tatum to be productive on the offensive end, but I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen him do on the other side of the ball in this postseason run. He has recorded at least 1 block in 6 of his last 8 games and he also had a postseason high of 3 blocks in Game 1 of this series against Cleveland. With the Celtics relying mostly on an aging Al Horford and Luke Kornet in the center positions, a lot of those duties have been transferred over to Tatum and he has responded well. The Cavs are averaging 48 points per game inside the paint for the series, and if that number stays consistent in Game 5, Tatum should be able to block at least 1 of those attempts down low.

Max Strus over 2.5 made threes (+116)

I had Strus in my Cavaliers vs Celtics Same Game Parlay for Game 4 and he answered the call with 5 threes made on just 9 attempts. It was his 2nd-highest scoring game of the postseason and the most threes made in a game so far. With their season on the line, I think the Cavs will turn to him quite a lot here, especially if their best player Donovan Mitchell is unable to go. In his last 5 games when facing elimination, Strus has scored double-digit points 3 times and has had a pair of threes in all but one of them. He also had 3 threes made in Game 7 of the first round against Orlando. For a team as limited on offense as the Cavs are, he will provide the necessary lift as they try to keep their season alive.

Derrick White to score 15+ points (+105)

With Donovan Mitchell potentially out for a 2nd consecutive game, Derrick White’s job will be a lot easier on the defensive end in Game 5. That should open things up for him on offense after a sub-par performance in Monday’s game. We’ve seen White step it up quite a lot this postseason — in the series against Miami he finished with 15 or more points in 4 of the 5 games played. He opened this series with a 25-point burst, which included 7 threes and 16 shot attempts in total. With the injury to Porzingis, White’s status has been elevated to the 3rd scoring option on the Celtics and we’ve seen those types of players play key roles in closeout games before. Cleveland’s game plan will mostly revolve around containing Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown so I think White can deliver another efficient performance here, especially from three-point land.
