Miami Heat ML (-102)

The Nets have a very young team that should be good once they click — but that’s not yet. They lost by 18 to their cross-town rivals, the Knicks, and let New York shoot over 44% from 3-point land. Trade deadline acquisition Mikal Bridges had a rough shooting night with just 7 points, and the Brooklyn team chemistry is currently abysmal. Without Kevin Durant, nobody knows who’s the center of the offense. Ben Simmons has shown a spark on both sides of the floor, Spencer Dinwiddie appears to think the team is his, and Cam Thomas has gone from scoring 30 each night to the bench. Miami’s offense continues to perform at the bare minimum. Luckily, the Heat’s defense has carried them in the last few weeks, but that has caused the majority of their games to go down to the wire. The last time they won a game by more than 10 points was on January 18 against the Pelicans, so I think it’ll be another narrow win for Miami.

Bam Adebayo over 22.5 points (-106)

Just a game after he got outplayed by MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, Bam Adebayo now faces a Nets team who are pretty weak at the center position. I’m sure we can all agree he is a better player than Nic Claxton. Adebayo is averaging 23.1 points per game in his last 8 against the Nets and he’s cleared this line in 50% of those games. With the Nets still in scramble mode after the big trades that sent KD and Kyrie away, they’ve shown plenty of weakness on defense and especially inside the paint. Even Simmons is getting minutes at the center position, and Adebayo should have his way against him. Teams are averaging 50 points per game against the Nets inside the paint this season, which ranks them only 18th in the NBA. Adebayo had only 10 points in the first meeting this season, so look for him to make amends tonight.

Our NBA Wednesday mega parlay has +1107 odds!

Mikal Bridges 2+ made threes (-113)

Spencer Dinwiddie and Mikal Bridges are the best offensive players the new-look Nets have and what kind of result they get from tonight’s game will largely depend on their output. Bridges had a really solid debut against Philadelphia with 23 points, knocking down 3 of 5 threes. He followed it up with a sub-par performance against New York, where he took only 8 shots, which was uncharacteristic for him. I expect that to go way up as he gets accustomed to his new role and he’s cleared this line 3 times in his last 4 games overall. Against the Heat he’s scored 20, 21, 15 and 15 in the last 4 games he’s faced them. Their three-point defense has been average at best this season, opponents are making 36.6% of their shots against them from the perimeter. I expect Bridges to lock down Jimmy Butler in this game, but also make at least a couple of threes.
