It’s the penultimate day of NBA action before the all-star break, which means the slate is absolutely packed. There are several marquee matchups, such as the Cavaliers against the 76ers, Heat taking on the Nets and the Mavericks battling the Nuggets. I’ve taken my 3 favorite edges from Wednesday’s slate and have crafted a parlay that pays out at over 11/1 odds. Also, be sure to check out all of our NBA picks for today.

Miami Heat winning margin 1-10 over Brooklyn Nets (+190)
The Nets have a very young team that is going to be good once they click — but that’s not now. They just lost by 18 to their cross-town rival, the Knicks, and let New York shoot over 44% from 3-point land. Trade deadline acquisition Mikal Bridges had a rough shooting night with just 7 points, and it’s clear that the Brooklyn chemistry is abysmal. Without Kevin Durant, nobody knows who’s the center of the offense. Ben Simmons has shown a spark on both sides of the floor, Spencer Dinwiddie appears to think the team is his, and Cam Thomas has gone from 30-piece each night to the bench.
For Miami, their offense continues to perform at the bare minimum. Luckily, their defense has carried them in the last few weeks, but that has caused the majority of their games to go down to the wire. The last time they won a game by more than 10 points was January 18 against the Pelicans, so I think it’ll be another single-digit win for Miami.
Cleveland Cavaliers ML over Philadelphia 76ers (+120)
Cleveland is playing too well to be an underdog right now. They have won 7 games in a row and rank 1st in net rating in February. Their defense has been phenomenal, ranking 1st in defensive rating in February, behind Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, who have become elite rim protectors in the NBA. And on offense, Donovan Mitchell has been on fire in the last week, while Darius Garland has added productive minutes. Cleveland could be in for some luck on Wednesday because Joel Embiid is questionable to play with a foot injury.
Since this is Philadelphia’s last game before the all-star break, I would not be surprised to see Embiid sit to nurse this lingering injury. The Cavaliers are being undervalued against a Sixers team that has only been a 3-man threat in the last few weeks. I’ll back the underdog on the money line for the second leg of this mega parlay.

Los Angeles Lakers -2.5 (-112) over New Orleans Pelicans
I’m backing the Lakers with the assumption that LeBron James will not play. The King is listed as questionable with the ankle injury that has been bothering him for weeks, and I expect Los Angeles to give the 38-year-old as much rest as possible. While a week ago I would auto-fade the Lakers without James, this is a new team after the trade deadline. Anthony Davis looked like his old self on Monday night with 19 points and 20 rebounds, Malik Beasley has been exactly what Los Angeles needed off the bench so far and D’Angelo Russell has been impressive on offense.
The Lakers will face a Pelicans team that has shown a lot more fight in the last week, but with CJ McCollum listed as questionable for Wednesday, this is the perfect opportunity for the newest Los Angeles acquisitions to showcase their skills. And if LeBron plays, even better! I think the Lakers can close out the first half of their season with a win on their home court.
