We are at a point where people are asking if the Nuggets will ever lose a home game in the NBA. They’ve won their last 14, but tonight they face a tricky Minnesota Timberwolves team who have beaten them 4 times in a row. Tip-off is at 10:00pm ET on ESPN and I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay which is available below.

We have picks on the side and total for all 9 games tonight in our NBA predictions, so make sure you check those out. Let’s dive in!

Minnesota Timberwolves 1-10 win margin (+380)

Minnesota Timberwolves 1-10 win margin over Denver Nuggets (+380)

These teams met 2 weeks ago at Target Center and the Timberwolves came out on top, 124-111. They have been a pleasant surprise over their last 8 games, winning 6 of them. They are 4-1 SU/ATS in their last 5 against Nikola Jokic and co., while covering the spread in their last 8 visits to Ball Arena. Anthony Edwards is on the injury report, though, questionable with a hip issue. He scored 29 points against the Utah Jazz a couple of days ago.

This will be the second game in two nights for the Nuggets, so they also have that working against them. They beat the Trail Blazers last night after another masterful performance by Jokic, who had 36 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while missing just 1 of his 14 shot attempts. Damian Lillard had 44 on the night, but the Blazers still came up short, which just shows you how good a team the Nuggets are at home. Their win streak is at 14 in this building, and over their last 12 games overall they are 9-2-1 ATS. On paper it should be all Denver. But, they played last night while Minnesota has had 3 days in between games. The Timberwolves are on a 4-game win streak in head-to-head meetings, and 2 of those were played in Denver. I’ll take the underdog on the money line.

D’Angelo Russell over 17.5 points (-120)

Since joining the Timberwolves, D’Angelo Russell has faced the Nuggets a total of 6 times and is averaging 20.3 points per game. His shooting splits are at 47.1% from the field, 42.9% from three and 76% from the free-throw line. That’s been in line with what he’s been averaging over his last 9 games overall, so I’m hoping he can carry over the momentum to tonight’s game against the fatigued Nuggets. Denver’s backcourt had a long night trying to slow down Damian Lillard, it gets a bit easier tonight but they still have to face a well-rested Edwards and Russell who haven’t played in 3 days.

If there’s one weakness the Nuggets have on defense it’s their paint protection. Teams are averaging 52 points per game against them this season, that’s the 6th-worst mark in the NBA. Over their last 3 games that’s up to 54.7 points per game, so I’m expecting Russell to be aggressive here as he finds a way to be effective. He has cleared this line 4 times in his last 6 games.
