Nikola Jokic over 25.5 points (-102)

It wasn’t the best of games for Nikola Jokic on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers as Joel Embiid outdueled him, scoring 47 points. Jokic had ‘only’ 24 on the night, plus 8 rebounds and 9 assists, while turning the ball over 7 times. Only twice this season has he had more turnovers than he did on Sunday, so you get the idea just how bad of a performance that was. But Jokic will want to make amends tonight and I think backing him to fill up the Pelicans’ net is the way to bet on this game. The 2-time MVP is averaging 29 points per game in his last 4 outings while shooting an incredible 72% from the field and 62% from three. He had 25 points in the win over the Pelicans a week ago, and in the last 10 meetings he has cleared this line 8 times, while in the 2 games he failed to do so he finished with 25 points. So the consistency is there, with Zion Williamson not clogging the paint he will have a open path to the basket in tonight’s game.

CJ McCollum to score 30+ points (+340)

There seems to be no end in sight for the issues the New Orleans Pelicans are dealing with. They’ve dropped 8 games in a row, mostly due to injuries as Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson have been out of the lineup for a while. Ingram is now back, but still finding his way back into form, and until that happens they’ll be counting on McCollum to carry the offense. He’s been consistent even during the losing streak, averaging 23.1 points per game on 44% from the field, and in his last 2 against the Timberwolves and Wizards he dropped 25 and 24 respectively. Scoring on the Nuggets is always a tough task, but there are some weaknesses that benefit CJ’s game. For instance, the Nuggets rank only 24th in the NBA in opponent points per game inside the paint, allowing 52 a night. And we’ve also seen them fall off a bit with their perimeter defense as teams are making 39.6% of threes against them over the last 3 games. McCollum has also scored at least 20 points in 5 of 6 games against them and he could elevate that to 30 tonight.
