It should be a fun night of basketball to tip off the weekend in the NBA. An 8-game schedule is highlighted by the Boston Celtics hosting the Phoenix Suns at 7:30 pm ET on NBA TV. The Kings, Trail Blazers and 76ers are also taking the court. Below is my Celtics vs Suns Same Game Parlay for Friday’s showdown inside TD Garden, and also be sure to check out all our full Suns vs Celtics predictions.

Celtics -9.5 (-110)

Jaylen Brown to make 3+ three-pointers (+100)

Deandre Ayton over 18.5 points (-106)

Parlay odds: +616

Part of the value in Same Game Parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Jaylen Brown making a few 3-pointers would obviously go well with a Boston win and cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Deandre Ayton to score at least 19 points for the Suns, but even if he does there is no reason why the Celtics can’t take care of business.

Boston Celtics -9.5 over Phoenix Suns (-110)

The Suns may be 6-2 SU in their last 8 overall, but they are just 1 game over .500 for the season. That’s not ideal for a team that was thought to be a title contender heading into the 2022-23 campaign. Phoenix does have an excuse, of course. Devin Booker has missed more than 20 games and isn’t particularly close to returning. Cameron Payne and Landry Shamet are also sidelined at the moment.

There is no excuse, though, for losing to the Atlanta Hawks by a ridiculous 32 points at home. That’s what happened to the Suns on Wednesday. Now they head East to face arguably the best team in the NBA. Boston just humiliated Brooklyn 139-96 on Wednesday and led by 30 points after the first quarter. In the previous meeting between these 2 squads this season, the Celtics rolled 125-98 in Phoenix on December 7. Look for the C’s to prevail by double-digits tonight.

Jaylen Brown to make 3+ 3-pointers (+100)

Opponents have the 10th-best 3-point shooting percentage against the Suns this season, including 40-percent marksmanship over the past 3 contests. In their loss to the Hawks earlier this week, they watched Atlanta drain 19 of 33 attempts from the lands of plenty – and that isn’t even a good 3-point shooting team! Meanwhile, Brown is coming off a lethal 7-for-12 effort from deep against Brooklyn. He has attempted at least 8 treys in 5 consecutive contests, including 11 last week against Orlando.

Deandre Ayton over 18.5 points (-106)

With Booker sidelined (not to mention Payne and Shamet, as well), Ayton has become more of a focal point in the Suns’ offense. The Arizona product has scored at least 20 points in 4 of the last 5 outings and he hasn’t been held under 19 in any of the last 5. Boston’s defense is good all around, but it is even better at defending the perimeter than it is guarding the paint. This should be a good opportunity for Ayton to continue his recent scoring success.
