NFL Power Rankings: Post-NFL Draft Edition

NFL Draft Power Rankings Joe Burrow drafted

With the 2020 NFL Draft officially over, it’s time to take a look at the new power rankings for the first time since the conclusion of the Super Bowl. There were a lot of veteran trades as well as surprising selections made during the NFL Draft as we will count down the teams and see if any of them made an impact during the three-day historic virtual event. Let’s dive straight into the Pickswise Power Rankings Post NFL Draft Edition.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

The defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs are currently the best team in football and only got better in the NFL Draft. One of the biggest concerns for Kansas City was finding a true rushing attack in the draft and they did exactly that. Coach Andy Reid wanted to find the perfect running back to fit the high flying Chiefs offense and did so Edwards-Helaire

  2. Baltimore Ravens

The best team in the regular season showed why they could be the best in the whole league. However, Baltimore crumbled in the playoffs but added new weapons for the offense come 2020. Welcome, Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins and Texas’ Devin Duvernay who will light up the offense.

  3. New Orleans Saints

One of the most consistent teams in the league, the New Orleans Saints are hoping for a long playoff run in 2020. The Saints excelled in the draft with helping on both sides of the ball adding Michigan C Cesar Ruiz and Wisconsin LB Zack Baun. Also do not forget about the underrated Dayton TE Adam Trautman.

  4. San Francisco 49ers

Even though the 49ers had a longer run than the Ravens, they lost a lot of key pieces this offseason and even during the NFL Draft. San Francisco lost, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, Emmanuel Sanders, Matt Brieda, and Marquise Goodwin. Even though San Francisco added more during the draft, it will be interesting to see how to bounce back.

  5.  Seattle Seahawks

Back to back NFC West teams as the title might be between the 49ers and Seahawks. (Sorry Rams Fans). Seattle just like the New Orleans Saints have a solid coach-quarterback combo that will continue to win games together. Seattle addressed the defensive holes with their two picks and will only continue to grow especially if they bring back Clowney.

  6. Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota comes into the Power Rankings as they simply had a better draft day than the Green Bay Packers. Even though Defensive end Everson Griffen is gone and wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Minnesota was able to select LSU’s Justin Jefferson, TCU’s Jeff Gladney and offensive tackle Ezra Cleveland of Boise State to fill those free agency holes.

  7. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo needed a No. 1 wide receiver to spice up the offense and did so by calling up the Minnesota Vikings. With the addition of Stefon Diggs, I expect Buffalo to run wild in the AFC.

  8. Tennessee Titans

Are the Titans for real? At the moment they are. Everybody might say Tennessee overpaid QB Ryan Tannehill. but he pulled out all the stops a season ago. I love the gamble with Tannehill especially knowing the Texans are still making questionable calls.

  9. Dallas Cowboys

The steal of the draft possible as the Cowboys have a brand new toy for Dak Prescott. Meet Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb who arguably is the best WR coming out of this draft class. With the offense getting a new toy, Jerry Jones did the same for the defense as he added Alabama CB Trevon Diggs.

  10. Indianapolis Colts

The 2019 season for the Indianapolis was short-lived as QB Jacoby Brissett could not stay consistent and the defense could not hold on the whole game. Well, 2020 will be a different story as the Colts have brought in veteran QB Philip Rivers and defensive star DeForest Buckner. Remember, Indianapolis also added running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr in the draft.

  11. Green Bay Packers

The biggest need for the Green Bay Packers was the receiver position as Davante Adams can easily be stopped by these high profiled teams such as the San Francisco 49ers. Green Bay cannot go far without a strong receiving core and they did not address that one bit in the draft.

  12. Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia still has a solid team, but the Jalen Hurts pick has me scratching my head. On the bright side, whoever is throwing the ball come this season, they have a new offensive weapon in TCU WR Jalen Reagor

  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay addressed the offense during free agency with the addition of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski and continued in the draft by protecting the Hall of Famer with Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs.

  14. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have full confidence in QB Tyrod Taylor but how long are they confident for? Los Angeles addressed that issue with drafting hopeful franchise QB Justin Herbert. Even if the offense struggles, the Chargers have an underrated secondary that could be the best in the league.

  15. Los Angeles Rams

If the new logos were involved in the power rankings, the Rams would be dead last. Case in point the Rams have had a very rocky offseason and draft this year with the logo, loss of Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, and Greg Zuerlein. Can new Ram RB Cam Akers be the next hero for Los Angeles?

  16. New England Patriots

As much as I want to rank the Patriots higher or lower, coming in the middle of the pack is where most likely they will end up in 2020. Head coach Bill Belichick will do everything in his power to make the Patriots an above. 500 team and show they can still win without Brady. The question is, who will replace him in 2020?

17. Atlanta Falcons

I was hoping for the Falcons to make a big splash during the NFL Draft, but they reached instead. Atlanta could have traded up and drafted a playmaker on either side of the ball and compete in 2020. Instead, they drafted cornerback A.J. Terrell in the first round.

  18. Arizona Cardinals

The addition of WR DeAndrew Hopkins was shocking as this Arizona offense could be the best in the west. They too along with the Broncos had one of the best drafts as they got Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons at No. 8 and Houston offensive tackle Josh Jones. Arizona has a solid chance of making the playoffs in 2o20.

  19. Denver Broncos

It’s time to jump on the bandwagon. Denver had one of the best drafts this past weekend as they got Jeudy and Hamler which could be the next one-two punch in the league. They also added help at center, cornerback, and the defensive line on Day 2. The only question is, can Drew Lock lead this team?

  20. Houston Texans

Bill O’Brien might be on a mission to ruin this Texans franchise. Can the Texans win without Hopkins? Can Brandin Cooks be the new Hopkins for Houston? Way too many questions for Houston even with them drafting TCU DT Ross Blacklock and Florida LB Jonathan Greenard.

  21. Pittsburgh Steelers

Can the 38-year old QB still lead the Steelers following surgery to reattach three elbow tendons? Everyone has the right to be skeptical about that. At least Big Ben has Notre Dame WR Chase Claypool to brighten up the offense.

  22. Cleveland Browns

It’s really hard to judge Cleveland’s recent moves as they have done everything right during the offseason and draft in the past years and yet to still deliver. Will it be the same in 2020?

  23. Chicago Bears

The Bears made some weird picks during the draft and offseason as they have loads of tight ends and Nick Foles possible under center for Week 1. Let’s get weird Chicago.

  24. Las Vegas Raiders

Welcome the Las Vegas Raiders who are looking to win with Derek Carr. Maybe Marcus Mariota. That’s the biggest question mark for the Raiders as they addressed the defense with adding Cory Littleton and Nick Kwiatkoski during free agency on the defensive side and added Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III and Lynn Bowden on the offensive side but who is leading this team?

  25. New York Jets

The New York Jets addressed the offensive line fast and quickly. New York added on guard Greg Van Roten, tackle George Fant and center Connor McGovern got one of the best offensive linemen in the draft in Louisville tackle Mekhi Becton. However, with Darnold protected, they do not have any playmakers as Bell might be the lone option at the moment.

  26. New York Giants

The Giants also followed in the Jets’ footsteps by addressing the offensive line with adding tackle Andrew Thomas as he will be protecting the blind side of QB Daniel Jones. Will Jones have that sophomore slump though?

  27. Detroit Lions

Detroit did everything on paper to improve the team as they signed veteran cornerback Desmond Trufant and the selected Ohio State Jeff Okudah at No. 3 overall. Detroit also added a rushing attack with D’Andre Swift. Detroit is doing everything right, but can they win with Patricia.

  28. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers are hitting the reset button. New head coach Matt Rhule will look to print his name on this team that will be without QB Cam Newton, Luke Kuechly, Mario Addison, James Bradberry, and Eric Reid. The good news is Carolina brought in QB Teddy Bridgewater and drafted only defensive players to start the rebuild.

  29. Washington Redskins

Washington is hoping Chase Young can be the franchise player to run the defense but can QB Dwayne Haskins do the same on offense?

  30. Miami Dolphins

Miami did everything possible in the free agency and the NFL Draft to improve this team. Let’s see if they can put it all together and win some games.

  31. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have found their hopeful franchise QB in Joe Burrow as he will have loads of weapons in A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon. The defense is what I’m worried about.

  32. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville is starting over again and might be after this season. It’s time to roll out #TankForTrevor
