The Stars did not out the same way as the Hurricanes, but they are not far off. Dallas avoided a sweep in Game 4 by winning the first of what they hope will be 4 elimination games. The Golden Knights will be glad to return home and anxious to put the final nail in the Stars’ coffin on Saturday night (8:00 pm ET, ABC) . Only 1 of the 4 games played in this series has been settled in regulation, but the final scores do not indicate how much Vegas has been on top. We vhave had some great games in this series, though, and Saturday’s Game 5 should bring more of the same.

Golden Knights win -1.5 (+180)

A couple of bad overtime bounces for the Golden Knights and they could easily be down 3-1 in this series rather than ahead, but this team just finds a way. They absolutely smothered the Stars in Game 3 on the way to a 4-0 shutout win. After the first period, they didn’t even attempt to generate offense and they had just 6 shots in the final 40 minutes of the game. Vegas went into pure containment mode and it was very successful.

Vegas has allowed just 8 goals in the 4 games of this series. The Golden Knights haven’t exactly lit up the scoreboard themselves, but they haven’t had to. Vegas has been in control for most of the series and forced Dallas to morph into their own style of play. If they stick to their game plan, then there is a good chance that the Stars will hover around their 2-goal-per-game average. With that, it would not take much for Vegas can carry another lead into the 3rd period. In that scenario, Dallas would pull its goalie and give the Golden Knights a better chance to get a multi-goal win.

Under 7.5 (-450)

An under on a 5.5-goal total has hit in 3 of 4 games this series, as well as in the 3 head-to-head regular-season matchups. With that, this under on an alternate total of 7.5 feels pretty safe. In 7 Dallas-Vegas matchups in 2022-2023, there have been 33 total goals scored for an average game total of 4.71. Defense and goaltending has been the constant in this matchup and there is no indication that will change.

Granted, a -450 number does not exactly scream value. Of course, it doesn’t. But as part of a +525 parlay, it is a nice leg that should hit. The highest-scoring game of the 7 head-to-heads still would have gone under this total as it was a 4-3 final in Game 1. Both teams are successful when they emphasize goal prevention as opposed to goalscoring. Look for them to each continue leaning on that strength.

Jack Eichel over 0.5 goals (+125)

Jack Eichel is as motivated as any skater in this series. In his first career postseason, he is a win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. He would love nothing more than to be that big-game player who puts his team on his shoulders. He has been a key factor in this Golden Knights run as he leads the team with 17 points in 15 games. If anyone can muster up some offense for Vegas, there is a good chance it will be Eichel.

Goals have come at a premium in this series. Despite that, Eichel has logged 3 points in the 4 games. Someone has to score in this game and according to Vegas odds, he is the most likely skater in the game to score. With a little pep in his step from the home crowd in a clinching game, Eichel will be buzzing. He is arguably the most talented among several talented players on a strong team. This +125 looks good value.
