I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. We have a nice 10-game NHL schedule on Monday sandwiched between a pair of 2-game slates, so let’s take advantage of it. In fact, we can do so in a big way by piecing together our favorite plays for a parlay with mega odds. Last week began with us cashing one at +1160 odds, so let’s have another big pay day. There’s several great matchups, but we’ve pinpointed the best spots to target to help boost your bankroll for days to come.

Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

Nashville Predators -1.5 (+105) over Arizona Coyotes

Let’s get things started with a puck line against a team that has been easy to pick on this season. The Coyotes once again find themselves in last place in the Central Division. They were one of the few teams off over the weekend, but they needed it. Arizona is in the midst of a brutal 14-game road stretch, and it has lost its last 3 games. Each of those contests was a loss by multiple goals. Now the Coyotes have to face a Predators team that is coming off a deflating loss, themselves.

They were able to gain the early lead against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday but ultimately fell in overtime. However, they had won their previous 3 games against some strong teams like the New York Rangers and Minnesota Wild. Nashville even put up 5 goals in their win over the New York Islanders, who are considered to have one of the best goaltenders in Ilya Sorkin. That isn’t the case for the ‘Yotes, as they’re still relying on second-year goalie Karel Vejmelka. He and Arizona have allowed the 5th-most goals per game, and the Preds should put that on full display tonight.

Colorado Avalanche vs Dallas Stars – Under 6 (-110)

As one who is not a fan of unders, this play should demonstrate just how strongly I feel towards a low-scoring game. They can often be the right play, it’s just no fun to root against goals. Regardless, we aren’t expecting many in this matchup. First and foremost, the Stars haven had one of the best goaltenders throughout these first 6 weeks in Jake Oettinger. He is currently 3rd in goals saved above expected, and is the 3rd-betting favorite to win the Vezina Trophy on some sportsbooks.

Therefore, it’s no surprise that the Stars have allowed the 4th-fewest goals per game at home. Similarly, the Avalanche have been just as strong in front of the net away from Colorado. They are allowing the 3rd-fewest goals per game on the road and just shutout Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals their last time on the ice. In fact, each of their last 4 games have stayed under the total. That was also the case in all 3 meetings last season, with the highest-scoring game being a 4-1 final score. With the Avs still without Gabriel Landeskog, both teams should be kept in check in Dallas.

Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (+175) over Vancouver Canucks

I’m wrapping things up by swapping back to another puck-line play. The Golden Knights aren’t as significant as favorites as some fans may have anticipated, so we’re getting great value here. It’s true they’re coming off of a loss, but those have been few and far between for Vegas this season. They are still the class of Western Conference, sitting atop the Pacific Division at 14-4-1.

Meanwhile, the Canucks are in the bottom half of the division at 6-9-3. It was Vancouver that relied on their goaltending behind Thatcher Demko last season, but the script is flipped this season. It is the Golden Knights who are allowing the 4th-fewest goals per game behind Logan Thompson. On the flip side, the Canucks have given up the 3rd-most goals per game. With that type of discrepancy, Vegas should have no problem becoming the first team in the Western Conference to 15 wins. Canucks key defenseman Quinn Hughes may still not be 100%, so I’ll take Jack Eichel and the Knights in the nightcap.
