Parlay odds: +762

Let’s break it down one leg at a time:

St Louis Blues -1.5 (-128) over Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes and Blues last met in October, which resulted in a 7-4 thumping by the Blues.  There isn’t much to be said about the Coyotes (1-13-1), who are having a nightmarish season.  They battle hard to keep some of their games close, but their roster just doesn’t have enough pieces to win games.  Playing a strong team like the Blues (8-4-2), means this game could get ugly.  The Blues are scoring at a 3.4 goals per game average (8th) and are giving up 2.64 per game (14th).  That spells trouble for a Coyotes team who scores an abysmal 1.5 goals per game (32nd), while giving up 3.73 goals (32nd).  To put it lightly, there hasn’t been a team as bad as the Coyotes in a long time.

Arizona is missing a good chunk of their roster, as they are without Christian Fischer, Carter Hutton, Nick Schmaltz, and Ryan Dzingel, but there are already so many holes on the squad that this doesn’t make a difference.  The Blues have lost 4 of their last 5 games, but a game against the lowly Coyotes is just what the doctor ordered to get the Blues out of their slump.  The Blues should roll.

Florida Panthers -1.5 (+148) over New York Islanders

The New York Islanders continue their grueling road trip tonight against the Florida Panthers.  The Isles are playing their second game in as many nights, and playing a potent Florida offense on the second half of a back-to-back is a tough challenge.  It has been tough going for this underperforming Islanders team, who have lost 3 straight games, including a 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning last night.

After putting up a good fight against Tampa Bay in a 3-2 overtime loss, Florida seems to be in a better headspace right now, as they were so close to getting back in the win column.  The Panthers are getting great play from their whole lineup, and that trend should continue against the Islanders.  New York does have a stingy defensive team, but they have holes that Florida’s stars, like Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau, can exploit.  The Panthers are the rested home team, and playing a road team who is on the tail end of a back-to-back seems to favor Florida in this one.

Predators/Maple Leafs under 5.5 (-105)

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators both have a lot of talent on offense.  However, both defenses have the tendency to take control of a game.  Players like TJ Brodie, Morgan Rielly, Roman Josi, Dante Fabbro, Mattias Ekholm, and the rest of the defensive units for both teams are full of guys that can keep this game under the total.  The goaltenders in this one are no slouches either.  Jack Campbell of the Maple Leafs is posting a .939 save percentage while goaltender Juuse Saros of the Predators is posting a .927 save percentage.  While both of these teams have offenses capable of scoring goals, the defenses and goaltending can take over and control this game.
