Tuesday offers an excellent NHL slate. A jam-packed 9-game night features a few division matchups, some inter-conference games and Matthew Tkachuk visiting Calgary for the first time as a visitor. Boston has a chance to pad its historic NHL record remaining undefeated at home, and more teams are looking to stay hot while others are looking to turn things around. There is no way that these games won’t provide an entertaining product all night long.

If you are looking to combine some picks from these games, check out these parlay picks that have +1124 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+155) over Tampa Bay Lightning

If there is anything negative to say about the Bruins this season; it would really be a reach. They just continue to hum along and win to the tune of the best point percentage in the league and an NHL-record 12-0-0 at home to start the season. At this point it is not a good bet to fade the Bruins money line or spread at home until they cool off a little bit. In their 12 wins at home, the Bruins have a +29 goal differential. That is an average win by 2.42 goals at home. They aren’t just beating teams at home; they are bullying their opponents.

The Lightning have been good — as expected — once again. But right now it doesn’t matter who the Bruins play. They are nearly impossible to fade. Boston beat Tampa 5-3 last week in Tampa. Considering the Bruins’ current form, familiarity bodes better for them. Boston ranks either first or second in the NHL in goals scored per game, goals allowed pre game, goal differential, face-off percentage, powerplay, penalty kill and goals against 5-on-5. They rank 3rd in save percentage. No matter how you slice it, the Bruins just continue to be the play regardless of their opponent — especially at home.

New York Islanders -1.5 (+140) over Philadelphia Flyers

The Islanders and Flyers have trended in very different directions. New York has won 4 out of its last 5 games and 7 out of its last 10 road games. Philadelphia is winless in its last 10 games with a -25 goal differential over that span. That loss by an average of 2.5 goals includes a 5-2 setback against these Islanders this past Saturday. The Flyers have scored the fewest goals per game in the league, and have the worst powerplay in the NHL. They rank 25th in penalty kill and their goal prevention ranks 19th in the NHL. Philadelphia has dropped 5 out of its last 6 home games, as well. It’s difficult to like anything about the Flyers right now.

The Islanders have had the Flyers’ number, specifically over the last couple seasons. In their last 10 head-to-head matchups New York is 9-1 with an average game score of 3.30-1.70. That includes a 3-1 record last season and 1-0 thus thus far in 2022-23. The Islanders have the NHL’s 5th-best goal prevention with 2.57 goals allowed per game, which is more than the Flyers score per game anyway. Since their first 6 games of the season, the Isles have gone 13-4-0. The Islanders playing great hockey and the Flyers are in an ugly slump. There is no indication lately that Philly will be able to keep this one close.

Seattle Kraken vs Los Angeles Kings under 6 (+100)

The under has been trending for both the Kraken and Kings lately. The total has gone under in 5 of Seattle’s last 7 games, and in 4 of Los Angeles’ last 6 games. Their combined over under record in their last 10 games is 6-13-1 across those 20 games. That record includes the under hitting in 6 of 9 combined Kings home and Kraken road games. Seattle and Los Angeles have already met twice this season, and both games hit a total of 5 goals. In their 6 matchups since last season, their average game total is 5.84. Tuesday’s matchup should keep those unders trends rolling.

The Kraken and Kings are separated by just 2 points in the standings, although Seattle has 3 games in hand. Both teams sit in a playoff spot, and both head-to-head matchups have gone under somewhat comfortably. Seattle’s game totals have averaged 5.9 goals over their last 10 games and Los Angeles’ game totals have averaged 5.6 goals over its last 10. Also over that span, the combined game total of the Kraken and Kings against teams at or above .500 is 5.57 goals. In games against good teams that stay close, including against each other, the under has been hitting more often. Pure matchup and recent trends lean toward the under on Tuesday.
