Blues -1.5

Parlay Odds +1149

Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 over Columbus Blue Jackets (-111)

The Carolina Hurricanes can establish a new franchise record with a win tonight. The record will reflect the fewest games necessary to reach 25 wins on the season. Considering they’re on home ice, we say they do it and manage to cover the spread. The Hurricanes are already one of the best home teams in the league with an 11-3-1 record, with the added incentive, they should be able to walk away with a victory tonight. In their most recent meeting the Hurricanes defeated the Blue Jackets 7-4 on January 1. The ‘Canes have shown that they can handle Columbus and tonight should be no different. Carolina is allowing the fewest goals per game in the entire NHL with just 2.21 per game, while the Blue Jackets are allowing the fourth-most goals with 3.56 goals per game. These two teams are completely mismatched on the defensive side of the puck, so the Hurricanes should walk away with a historic win. Take them on the puck line.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 over Detroit Red Wings (+180)

This is the Jets first game in a week. After an incredibly embarrassing loss a week ago, they should have the ability to bounce back tonight. They’ve waited long enough to get back out on the ice and thankfully they aren’t playing the best of opponents. Detroit has lost their last three games in a row and five of their last six since returning from break. The Red Wings are starting to tail off just as the Jets are looking to get back on track. These teams haven’t played each other in more than two years, so there is an element of the unknown heading into tonight’s matchup. Look for the Jets to look like they’ve been shot out of a cannon, they need to start turning their season around as soon as possible. They’re currently 13 points out of first place in their division with four games in hand. If they can go on a run here, they can make up a lot of ground. A week’s break could have done Winnipeg wonders; expect it to come back fully energized and ready to win. Take the Jets on the puck line; they’re the better team, no need to overthink this one.

St. Louis Blues -1.5 over Seattle Kraken (+115)

The Seattle Kraken are playing the tail end of a back to back on the road — not a great recipe for success. They just lost 5-2 last night and are playing an even tougher opponent tonight. The St. Louis Blues have been one of the best teams in the league this year, and they’ll be looking to extend their win streak to three games. On home ice this season the Blues have put together a 14-3-2 record and have been one of the most consistent teams playing at home. The Kraken, on the other hand, have been a major disappointment recently and have struggled tremendously on the road. They’re on a seven-game losing streak and have a 4-10-2 record on the road. In five of those seven losses, the opposing team covered the spread. This is a complete mismatch. The Blues have been scoring the sixth-most goals per game while the Kraken have allowed the second-most. Take the Blues on the puck line.
