Los Angeles Rams: What will their 2020 record be?

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp celebrating a touchdown

The Los Angeles Rams are eager to return to the playoffs as last season fell short below their expectations. Already in a competitive NFC West division alongside the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Arizona Cardinals, can the Rams climb back to the top again? With the loss of running back Todd Gurley and wide receiver Brandin Cooks, all eyes will be on Sean McVay once again to see if he can bring the Rams back to the promised land.

Let’s see if the Rams can prove the doubters wrong this season as Pickswise takes a look at each game-by-game and predicts the outcome for the Los Angeles Rams this upcoming season.

Week 1: vs. Dallas Cowboys

One of the biggest games on the opening week as the Los Angles Rams open SoFi stadium (hopefully) against the Dallas Cowboys. This is going to be a back and forth game without a doubt. However since these two teams have met, Dallas has improved on both sides of the ball. It’s a shootout as Dallas steals a victory. Loss

Week 2: @ Philadelphia Eagles

McVay has yet to claim Doug Pederson in his victory column as the Rams hit the road for the first time this season. Both teams will be showcasing a different roster since they last meet as McVay loves winning on the road. Rams will not start 0-2. Win

Week 3: @ Buffalo Bills

One of the hardest three-game stretches out of all the teams, Los Angeles stays on the east coast to take on the Buffalo Bills. Jared Goff hates playing in the cold and Buffalo is one of the most physical teams in the league. Tough loss to swallow. Loss

Week 4: vs. New York Giants

Losing back to back games is not apart of the McVay system as the Los Angeles Rams take on a young Giants team and show them what a well-rounded team looks like. Win

Week 5: @ Washington Redskins

Speaking of young teams, the Los Angeles Rams take on the Washington Redskins in week five. Another simple and easy task for Jared Goff. Win

Week 6: @ San Francisco 49ers

Another huge test for the Rams comes in week six. San Francisco will still have an elite rushing attack as Los Angeles still has a questionable rush defense. Loss

Week 7: vs. Chicago Bears

This is the perfect time to unleash the new stars in Los Angeles as Van Jefferson and Cam Akers will use their speed to defeat the Chicago Bears. Win

Week 8: @ Miami Dolphins

Almost a slip-up here. QB Tua Tagovailoa might finally be comfortable with the new-look offense and will test the Rams defense. Luckily, Los Angeles finishes the game strong. Win

Week 9: BYE

Week 10: vs. Seattle Seahawks

Until Seattle fixes their offensive line problems, Aaron Donald will continue to toss Russell Wilson around. Two weeks to prepare gives the Rams the edge. Win

Week 11: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Monday Night Football. Tom Brady vs Jared Goff. A rematch of Super Bowl LIII. Tampa Bay may have experience on their side, but they are still beatable. Los Angeles finally gets the knot out of their back and takes down Brady and the Bucs Win.

Week 12: vs. San Francisco 49ers

Coming off the win to Tampa Bay, the Rams defense will be rejuvenated and ready to show why they can be on top of the NFC West again. 49ers hit a bump in the road as the Rams make it five straight wins. Win

Week 13: @ Arizona Cardinals

All winning streaks have to come to an end at some point. Arizona is trending upward and will make a statement victory over the Los Angeles Rams. This NFC West is no joke. Loss

Week 14: @ New England Patriots

Can head coach Bill Belichick outsmart McVay again? Everyone might see the Patriots slowly exciting the elite circle, but they can still win against some of the best. A stunner for the Rams. Loss

Week 15: New York Jets

After a last-second loss to the New England Patriots, the Los Angeles Rams lay a whopping against the New York Jets. Win

Week 16: @ Seattle Seahawks

Both Seattle and Los Angeles are fighting for a better playoff spot as this game will most likely be flexed to primetime. After questions arise from McVay’s coaching style after the loss to New England, the young coach does what he does best. McVay and the offensive explode against Seattle and shock the 80 thousand fans. Win

Week 17: vs. Arizona Cardinals

The little brother got the win the first matchup, now it’s time for the older brother to hit them where it hurts the most. Los Angeles finishes the season strong and knocks the Cardinals out of playoff spot. Win

Taking an early look at the 2020 Los Angeles Rams season, I have them finishing with an 11-5 record. In 2019 they finished with a 9-7 record and finished third in the division. In 2020, I expect them to have a consistent season in 2020 as they make the playoffs and finish second in the division.
