David McCormack (Kansas) over 8.5 rebounds (-110)

On Friday, it was announced that Creighton’s center Ryan Kalkbrenner will miss the remainder of the NCAA Tournament due to injury. Kalkbrenner’s absence will be felt, as the 7’1” center is one of the premier shot blockers and rebounders in college basketball. Keyshawn Feazell will likely fill in for Kalkbrenner, giving McCormack a slight size advantage in the post. McCormack ranks 4th in offensive rebounding rate among all players in college basketball while he ranks in the top 275 in defensive rebounding rate. Creighton is not a highly efficient offense, so there should be plenty of defensive rebounding opportunities for McCormack.

Jules Bernard (UCLA) over 1.5 threes made (-110)

Saint Mary’s is one of college basketball’s best teams at limiting three-point attempts (4th in opposing three-point rate), but this line still feels too low. Bernard shoots under 33% from three-point range this year, but shot over 39% last year from distance. He has made 2 or more threes in 7 straight games on 5.6 attempts per game. Furthermore, he leads the Bruins in three-point attempts this season with 156. With so much focus on Johnny Juzang, Bernard should get 5-7 attempts from the perimeter and give us a good chance to cash this over.

Tyler Burton (Richmond) under 16.5 points (-130)

Burton leads Richmond in scoring, but he draws a tough matchup on Saturday against Providence’s Justin Minaya. Minaya is an elite perimeter defender, matching the size and quickness of Burton. Per Synergy, Minaya ranks in the 92nd percentile defensively and holds opponents to under 28% shooting from the field. Expect Providence to force someone else to beat them other than Burton on Saturday.
