Chelsea to beat Newcastle – Money Line & over 2.5 goals (+110), 7.30 a.m ET

There was a major overhaul of the Chelsea roster during the summer transfer window and that investment seems to be paying off for Frank Lampard’s Blues.

No team has scored more goals than Chelsea’s 20 in the EPL this season and their only blanks came against champions Liverpool and Manchester United.

Their offensive unit has scored at least three goals in each of their other six Premier League matches and they should add to that tally on Saturday’s trip to Newcastle.

Chelsea’s German star Timo Werner has now scored seven goals in his last six appearances for club and country while in-form winger Hakim Ziyech can also trouble a Newcastle defense without a shutout since the opening weekend of the season.

Aston Villa to beat Brighton – Money Line (+123), 10 a.m ET

Aston Villa continued its dream start to the EPL season with a 3-0 win at Arsenal before the international break and a home victory over Brighton looks likely.

Villa fans endured a tense battle against relegation last season but they have enjoyed some amazing results this term with wins over Arsenal and Leicester as well as a famous 7-2 rout of champions Liverpool.

A new-look offense featuring England national team midfielders Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley, former Lyon winger Bertrand Traore, and striker Ollie Watkins, a prolific goal-getter in the lower divisions, should prove too hot for Brighton to handle.

The Seagulls have won only one of their eight EPL games this season and lack the offensive quality of their hosts.

Brighton has found the net only three times in their last four matches, including an own goal from West Brom’s Jake Livermore, and they may not enjoy their visit to Villa Park.

Tottenham to beat or tie with Manchester City – Double chance (+107), 12.30 p.m ET

It’s Jose Mourinho versus Pep Guardiola in a battle of two of European soccer’s biggest managerial beasts and Tottenham boss Mourinho could be the happier of the two at the final whistle.

Spurs has fond memories of their last meeting with a Manchester club — last month’s 6-1 thrashing of City’s neighbors United at Old Trafford — and they have won five and tied two of their last seven league matches.

Facing City is always a tough assignment but Tottenham is full of confidence with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son in dazzling form and Gareth Bale getting sharper with every game.

They start the weekend in second place in the EPL standings with City way down the table in 10th after some patchy performances.

City has won only two of their last six matches, a run that also featured a 5-2 home loss to Leicester and ties with Leeds, West Ham and Liverpool, and their defense could struggle to keep in-form Spurs quiet in north London.
