Liverpool vs Chelsea both teams to score (-164), 7:30 am ET

Liverpool and Chelsea were both seen as near certainties to be in the top 4 this season but things have not panned out that way.

The Reds reached the 4th round of the FA Cup with a win at Wolves on Tuesday, but their previous road games at Brentford and Brighton were disastrous. Jurgen Klopp’s defense conceded 2 or 3 goals in each of its first 6 games back after the World Cup and Chelsea has the ability to test it further, particularly as Liverpool’s star center-back Virgil van Dijk is injured.

Admittedly, Graham Potter’s team has scored just 22 goals in its 19 league matches, but there is still potential for improvement, even though new star Joao Felix is suspended after his red card on debut against Fulham. Against a defense prone to mistakes, the London team has to be positive and it would be no surprise if both teams found the net in this one.

Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest under 2.5 goals (-146), 10:00 am ET

When Bournemouth visited Nottingham to play Forest earlier this season, it was a thriller as the Cherries came from a 2-0 deficit to claim a 3-2 success. However, that looks something that is unlikely to be repeated as both of these teams are goal-shy and a crucial relegation battle could turn cagey.

Finding the net is a big issue for Bournemouth with 6 straight defeats since the World Cup break and Gary O’Neil’s team failed to score in 5 of those outings. Forest should be encouraged by a tie with Chelsea and wins against Southampton and Leicester, but scoring just 2 goals in their 9 away games is a concern, so there may not be a feast of goals.

Brighton ML over Leicester (+105), 10:00 am ET

It looked as though Leicester would get over its poor start to the season as the Foxes won 4 of their 5 games before the World Cup, but the break and an injury to star midfielder James Maddison has done them no favors. They have lost to Newcastle, Liverpool, Fulham and Nottingham Forest since the restart and that doesn’t bode well for a visit from in-form Brighton.

The Seagulls have enjoyed recent road successes at Everton, Southampton and Wolves and their spirits will have only been lifted by a 3-0 home success over Liverpool last time. Roberto De Zerbi is doing a fine job and they can continue their push for European qualification.

West Ham ML over Everton (-130), 10:00 am ET

There is a congested look to the bottom of the Premier League table and there is a chance that the losing coach in this clash could be fired. Everton may have thought its luck would change after claiming a 1-1 tie at Manchester City, but that is the only point the Toffees have earned in their last 6 matches. That is bad news for the under-fire coach Frank Lampard, who will be guaranteed a hostile reception at the club for whom he used to play.

West Ham has earned 1 point in its last 4 matches, putting pressure on former Everton boss David Moyes, but the Hammers probably have the stronger roster to climb away from relegation trouble. This looks an ideal chance for the Londoners to get back to winning ways.
