Sunday NHL three-team mega parlay (+1160 odds): Carolina and Florida battle it out for top spot in the Central

Carolina center Sebastian Aho top-scored with 38 regular season goals for the Canes last season.

It is a busy NHL Sunday with eight games taking place throughout the day. Some vital matchups at the top of the Central Division highlight the action as the Panthers host the Canes and the Hawks host the Lightning.  Be sure to check out our picks for all of Sunday’s NHL matchups.

But right now let’s break down our three-team mega parlay:

Rangers ML (+125)

Bruins -1.5 (+100)

Hurricanes -1.5 (+180)

Parlay odds: +1160

New York Rangers ML over Pittsburgh Penguins (+125)

The New York Rangers head into Pittsburgh playing some of their best hockey of the year. The Rangers have won three games in a row, averaging five goals per game over that stretch. This will be a back-to-back situation for both teams which bodes well for the Rangers as Pittsburgh is 0-4 in their last four games without rest. The Rangers scoring should likely continue given how much the Penguins have struggled to keep the puck out of their net this year. Only four teams in the league are allowing more goals per game than the Penguins’ 3.23 average. The same can be said for their penalty kill which ranks 27th in the league killing off just 73.5% of their penalties. The Rangers excel in both of these areas as their fifth ranked penalty kill has been successful 86.3% of the time to go along with their low goals against average of 2.57%. Take the plus money on New York!

Boston Bruins -1.5 vs New Jersey Devils (+100)

The Boston Bruins dominated the Washington Capitals 5-1 on Thursday night in a wildly eventful and entertaining affair. Unfortunately, Brandon Carlo was forced to leave the game after being the victim of an illegal hit to the head by Tom Wilson. The hit went uncalled by the officials, but the Bruins would make sure Wilson and the Capitals paid for the vicious blow in the second period. Newcomer Jarred Tinordi stood up for his teammate going toe-to-toe with Wilson and the Bruins scored two quick goals while Wilson and Tinordi served their penalties. It was a teambuilding moment for the Bruins who will build off that momentum on Sunday vs the New Jersey Devils.

The Devils are coming off an ugly 6-3 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. New Jersey has now lost five games in a row and will have to play a motivated Bruins team on no rest. Don’t expect the Bruins to overlook the Devils as New Jersey has taken the last two games vs the Bruins this year. With Mackenzie Blackwood playing on Saturday, it is unlikely he will be able to save the Devils vs the Bruins once again. Take Boston to win by more than one!

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 vs Florida Panthers (+185)

The Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers will meet for the rare single game series on Sunday evening. The Hurricanes come into Sunday with a perfect opportunity to extend their winning streak to five games. Carolina has been resting since Thursday wile the Panthers are coming off a 6-2 win in Nashville last night. Carolina is an impressive 7-1-1 on home ice so loosing to a team coming off a back-to-back seems unlikely.  Carolina should have no problem scoring as their 3.35 goals-per-game average has them ranked fourth place in the league. The ‘Canes also have a big advantage in the faceoff circle winning over 6% more faceoffs than the Panthers this year. Take the Hurricanes to win by more than a goal as home ice advantage and rest will be too much for the Panthers to overcome.
