Good morning, Pickswise Nation. We have not 1 but 2 more games in Week 3 of the NFL season thanks to another Monday Night Football doubleheader. Meanwhile, the final week of Major League Baseball regular season is getting underway. It’s another big day in the world of sports, so let’s get right to it and make your next bet better with Wise n’ Shine!

About Last Night

Dolphins score 70, Cardinals upset Cowboys
Miami was supposed to be an offensive juggernaut. It is. Denver was supposed to be better under new head coach Sean Payton. It isn’t. The result was a 70-20 blowout in the Dolphins’ favor on Sunday afternoon. While that was the most eye-popping score of the NFL’s Sunday slate, the most surprising result saw Arizona stun Dallas 28-16. It’s been another profitable week for our NFL handicappers, as we’re 9-5 on sides and 9-5 on totals in Week 3 heading into MNF.

Texas takes control of AL West
The Rangers battled into a tie for first place in the American League West when the weekend began and have now taken complete control thanks to a 3-game sweep of the Mariners. Texas has won 5 in a row overall, while Houston (3-game losing streak) is skidding along with Seattle. The Rangers lead the Astros by 2.5 games and the Mariners by 3 with a week left.

Monday Night Football, let’s play 2
We have a second consecutive Monday Night Football doubleheader on our hands. After Philadelphia visits Tampa Bay, Cincinnati hosts the Rams. Check out our Eagles vs Buccaneers predictions and Rams vs Bengals predictions.

Four games to begin final MLB week
The home stretch of the MLB regular season is upon us. By Sunday night, the postseason lineup will be set. As for Monday, only 4 games are on the schedule – including San Diego at San Francisco (9:45 pm ET, FS1). Read all of our MLB picks.

Best Bet of the Day

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles -5 over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-110)
7:15 pm ET, ESPN

Not all 2-0 records are created equal. It does make for at least a somewhat intriguing matchup, but it’s not one that I foresee being competitive on the field. Tampa Bay will have to do a lot more than beat Chicago and Minnesota (both now 0-3) to prove to anyone that it is a serious playoff contender. It is true that the Eagles haven’t exactly lit it up through 2 weeks, but their roster is loaded on both sides of the football and they are the defending NFC champions. This team is a proven winner. Check out our full Eagles vs Buccaneers predictions.

Stat of the Day

Rams receiver Puka Nacua has 25 receptions on 35 targets for 266 yards heading into Monday Night Football against the Bengals, who are allowing 26 points per game.

Quote of the Day

Obviously, that was embarrassing and tough to watch. It’d be one thing to say, ‘hey we’re going to get on to the next game,’ but we have to watch that tape. [Monday] will be tough for a lot of players – tough for us, too, as coaches.

— Broncos head coach Sean Payton following his team’s 70-20 loss to the Dolphins
