About Last Night

Curry historic as Warriors eliminate Kings
The Warriors went into Sacramento and eliminated the Kings from the NBA playoffs with a 120-100 victory. Stephen Curry became the first player ever to score 50 points in a decisive Game 7. Meanwhile, Miami took Game 1 from New York in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Boston bounced right off the bat
The Bruins, who compiled the best record in the NHL and were favored to win the Stanley Cup, lost in round one as the Panthers pulled off an improbable 4-3 overtime upset in Game 7. In the Western Conference, defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado also lost Game 7 at home. Seattle advanced with a 2-1 win.

Rangers humiliate Yankees 15-2
The Rangers didn’t just beat the Yankees on Sunday afternoon; they thrashed the Bronx Bombers 15-2. Josh Jung hit a grand slam in the first inning to set the tone. Meanwhile, the Dodgers finished off a 3-game sweep of the Cardinals with a 6-3 win.

Game 7 between Rangers and Devils
A wild first round in the Stanley Cup playoffs finally comes to an end with the last of the Game 7s on Monday. The Rangers kept their season alive with a victory on Saturday and they will now visit the Devils for all the marbles. Check out all of our hockey coverage on the NHL page.

Braves, Mets set for double-header
A 7-game MLB schedule has increased to 8, as the Braves and Mets will play an afternoon double-header following rainouts on both Saturday and Sunday. The 2 NL East rivals will also square off in a double-header on August 12. Don’t miss our MLB predictions.

Best Bet of the Day

NBA: Phoenix Suns +4.5 over Denver Nuggets(-110)
10:00 pm ET, TNT

There is a reason the Suns opened as favorites to win this series. Although the Nuggets always seem to have it better at home, their insane shooting performance in Game 1 will be difficult to replicate. Phoenix shot just 30.4 percent from 3. In Kevin Durant’s 6 regular-season games with at least 30 minutes playing alongside Devin Booker, the Suns shot better than that from 3 on 5 occasions. As such, improvement can be expected on Monday. Getting 4.5 points with arguably the most talented team in the NBA is too good to pass up. Check out our full Suns vs Nuggets predictions.

We’ve got our work cut out for us. I’m looking forward to Game 2, though. We’ll be fine…I think.
