Good morning Pickswise Nation and welcome to another wonderful Sunday of sports. There’s a huge Game 5 in the NBA Finals on the horizon, but first we have a busy MLB slate and French Open tennis to enjoy, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

Golden Knights on the brink of a title
After the Florida Panthers made this a series with an overtime victory on Thursday, the Golden Knights regrouped to win a pivotal Game 4 in Sunrise to pull within one win of their first ever Stanley Cup. Las Vegas went up early and held off a late Panthers push to secure a crucial 3-2 road win behind another strong effort from goalie Adin Hill. Game 5 will be in Vegas on Tuesday at 8:00 pm ET.

MLB player props stay hot
Our MLB player props handicapping team has been hot this season, and that remained the case on Saturday as our pick of Rangers team total over 3.5 cashed with ease. Elsewhere, our YRFI/NRFI best bets bounced back with a perfect 2-0 day. Notable results from Saturday’s action included the Yankees evening their series with Red Sox, the Dodgers shut out the Phillies and the Rangers knocked off the Rays 8-4 to knot up their series at a game apiece.

Best Bet of the Day

MLB: Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 (-105) over Minnesota Twins
1:37 pm ET

Kevin Gausman has completely swapped his home and away splits from last season. What I mean by that is last season, Gausman struggled at home with a 4-7 record and a 4.57 ERA but was excellent on the road with an 8-3 record and a 2.30 ERA. But this season, Gausman has been lights out in Toronto with a 2-0 record and a 1.65 ERA and has been mediocre on the road with a 3-3 record with a 3.76 ERA.

Fortunately for Gausman, Sunday’s start will be at home. This will be his 3rd straight start at home too, and in his last 2 starts combined, he’s surrendered just 1 run, 9 hits and a whopping 24 strikeouts in 13.2 innings. His opponent on Sunday will be the Twins, and even though they lit up the scoreboard on Saturday, this is actually a great matchup for Gausman. If you know Gausman, you know that he’s going to use his splitter about 40% of the time, and it’s gotten a 47.5% whiff rate while limiting hitters to a .169 batting average. That’s a pitch that Minnesota has been terrible against this season as they rank 29th against splitters, with only the White Sox being worse. Read our full Twins vs Blue Jays predictions
