Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another wonderful day of sports! Super Bowl week isn’t here quite here yet, but we do have action in the NBA, college basketball, soccer and the NHL All-Star Weekend festivities to keep you entertained. Let’s get into making your next bet better!

About Last Night

College basketball takes center stage
There were a number of compelling college basketball games on Thursday, and our handicappers were on point, as we finished 4-1-1 for the evening and hit our college basketball parlay at +265 odds! The major result of the night was in Conference USA as the UAB Blazers dispatched the No. 19 FAU Owls, handing FAU its first loss since November 11. Other results included Wisconsin toppling Ohio State, Arizona knocking off Oregon, Gonzaga rolling through Santa Clara and Michigan upsetting Northwestern on the road.

Knicks and Lakers highlight NBA action
It was a fairly routine night in the NBA, but our handicappers had a decent slate as they went 4-3 on sides and we extended our NBA player props run to 10-6 over the last 6 days. The standout game came at Madison Square Garden, as the Knicks knocked off the Heat in the waning moments while the Lakers rebounded from a slow start to defeat the Pacers 112-111 on the road. Out west, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were excellent once again in a Nuggets victory over the Warriors.

Today’s Slate

Fun day in the NBA
We’ve got an 8-game slate in the NBA on Friday, including a couple of intriguing matchups between the Phoenix Suns vs Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks vs Utah Jazz. Read today’s NBA picks.

Important night for mid-major college hoops
Friday night slates tend to be the calm before the storm in college basketball, and today’s is no different. The notable games on the schedule include an important showdown between San Diego State and Boise State, while Kent State travels for a massive in-state battle with Akron in the MAC. Be sure to check out our college basketball predictions for all of this weekend’s action.

Best Bet of the Day

English Premier League: Chelsea vs Fulham Under 2.5 goals (-105)
3:00 pm ET

Chelsea lies 10 points behind 4th-placed Manchester United in the EPL standings and the Blues’ slim hopes of a Champions League qualification spot would take another hit if they can’t beat neighboring Fulham on Friday. The only game in Chelsea’s last 8 that featured more than 2 goals was a 2-1 loss at Fulham on January 21, when the Blues had to play the final 30 minutes with 10 men after Joao Felix, another recent recruit, was sent off. Fulham played well against Tottenham only to lose to a moment of inspiration by Harry Kane, but the Whites did not trouble the Spurs goal much and, if anything, this Chelsea defense could be even more difficult to break down. Read our full Chelsea vs Fulham predictions.

Stat of the Day

Thursday marked the first time all season that Houston has not covered the spread in a true road game. The Cougars knocked off Wichita State, but failed to cover the 12.5-point spread in the process.
