Good morning, Pickswise Nation! Today’s sports slate isn’t too busy, but there is plenty of new content in store for the rapidly approaching NFL and college football seasons. The MLB slate is the main source of entertainment today, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

MLB best bets and player props stay hot
The Pickswise MLB team had a fine day on Monday, especially in the player prop market. Our MLB props experts cashed all of their plays for a 3-0 day, meaning we have now won 6 of our last 9 player props. Furthermore, we also went 3-0 on our MLB best bets — bringing our record to 7-2 in our last 9 best bets.

Today’s Slate

Full slate of MLB games
We have another huge slate of 15 MLB games today. Baseball will be on all evening, with the Phillies-Reds contest getting the day started at 6:40 pm ET. There are many good games in store on Tuesday night, such as Yankees-Rays and Dodgers-Brewers. You can read our previews for all today’s MLB games here.

Best Bets of the Day

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies ML (-180) over Cincinnati Reds
6:40 pm ET

These teams couldn’t be more different. The Phillies need every possible win, as they are currently holding on to the final NL Wild Card slot. On the other side, the Cincinnati Reds have all but packed it in for the season, as they only have 5 wins this month. Phillies starter Kyle Gibson has been dealing though in August, as he holds a 1.93 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP this month. He’ll be opposed by T.J. Zeuch, whose first start in the majors did not go to plan. Zeuch allowed 6 earned runs on 6 hits in only 4 innings against the red-hot Mets, putting his ERA at 13.50. Needless to say it won’t get any easier against Philadelphia. In the last 15 days, the Phillies have been a top 10 offense in team average, OBP and OPS. On the other hand, the lowly Reds rank inside the bottom 10 teams in baseball in those same offensive categories. In this case, we like backing a Phillies team that is fighting for their playoff lives against an unproven pitcher. Check out our full Phillies vs Reds preview.
