Good morning Pickswise Nation, and welcome to a brand new month! We’ve got Monday Night Football, NBA and NHL action to ensure we start November with a bang, so let’s get straight into it!

About Last Night

Astros stay alive
The Braves entered yesterday’s Game 5 knowing that victory would secure the World Series, but the Astros fought hard to keep their hopes alive with a huge 9-5 victory. Atlanta still holds a 3-2 series lead, but Game 6 is now huge for both teams. Can Houston pull off the comeback? The Astros are now +200 with FanDuel Sportsbook to win the World Series, while the Braves are -240.

Cowboys cruise to 6-1
Dak Prescott was a late scratch from Dallas’ SNF game with Minnesota, but that didn’t matter as Cooper Rush led the Cowboys to 20-16 win over the Vikings as they moved to 6-1. It was a big day for backup quarterbacks, as Jets QB Mike White posted 405 passing yards and 3 TDs in his first ever start with New York earning a huge 34-31 upset over Cincinnati. At Pickswise, we had a solid day as we went 8-5 ATS and 7-6 on totals on NFL Sunday. Check out our picks for MNF between the Giants and Chiefs.

Today’s Slate

Giants and Chiefs meet on MNF

NBA action continues
We’ve got a tidy 9-game slate on the NBA hardwood tonight, highlighted by the 4-3 Raptors taking on the 5-1 Knicks at Madison Square Garden at 7:30pm ET on NBA TV. Make sure you find out our picks for each of today’s matchups.

Trio of games on the ice
Three matchups take place in the NBA today with the Capitals taking on the Lightning at 7pm ET live on NHL Network. Meanwhile, the Senators battle the Blackhawks while the Oilers host the Kraken. We’ve got bets on the side and total for each of those games.

Best Bet of the Day

Kansas City Chiefs -9.5 vs New York Giants
8:15pm ET, ESPN

Kansas City was terrible last week against the Titans, but it’s never wise to put too much stock in a one-game sample size. Patrick Mahomes has still been very efficient overall this season. The last two times the Giants faced competent offenses — the Rams and Cowboys — they gave up 38 and 44 points. If Kansas City is able to score that many, New York won’t come close to keeping this within single digits. Check out our full preview of Giants vs Chiefs.
